Holiday Inn Express Milwaukee-West Medical Center

Was informed at 4:10 am on the day I was supposed to check in that the hotel would not be able to accommodate my reservation. No other explanation. What?!? Milwaukee hotels were sold out that night. I had made my reservation months earlier. I ended up at a Hilton property 20 miles outside the city and paid $$$ because everything was sold out. Absolutely infuriating and no idea how a hotel can get away with this.

Great stay

I was surprised to find that I was in a suite. It was very pleasant to have a separate bedroom and “living” area; especially for the price I paid. Thanks!

Clean rooms, good breakfast, fast check in and convenient location.

I am frequent business and private traveler and stayed at Holiday Inn Express at many other locations last decades however this one was probably the worst quality and I hate the most was slow shower drain and it seems that it was clogged for a long time so I didn’t understand why it hasn't been fixed because it gave me enough reasons to NOT staying at the hotel any more.

The only reason I frequent this place is because I have ongoing appointments at the hospital which is conveniently located near by. The place is noisy starting at about 7am . The cleaning crew has full blown conversations ; literally yelling up and down the halls, about their current love life or some other unpleasant unprofessional topic and they have no problem letting whomever hear every detail. The woman who checked me in was rude and abrupt which I really wasn't in the mood for coming straight from the hospital and already not feeling well. I came in sweating and dragging my bag which I was too weak to pick up and I had to ask if someone could plz help me as everyone just sat there and stared at me when I came in. Finally a young girl who was behind the desk in a back room came out to help me bring my bag back to my room.

Negatives: No show-stoppers here, but to be particular…. My room had a bit of a funky odor that is readily forgotten after a few minutes; The rooms with window facing the front parking lot get the adjacent highway traffic noise for which earplugs can help during sleep; Sink drainage was very sluggish that would have been nice to not have; Included free breakfast offerings were standard and always appreciated but could have included some nicer choices. Positives: Convenient location; Neighborhood seemed safe; Property was clean & maintained; Hotel interior was clean & maintained; Complimentary guest coffee / tea was good; Staff was pleasant, effective, & efficient; Room was clean; Included free breakfast was adequate; Checkout was quick; Room rate was reasonable. This is a very good choice.

Positive: Clean, modern updated rooms and a great breakfast Negative: It was hidden and we passed it twice before GPS helped us find it without a visible sign

Great service & location. Tub/shower had you standing in water (ewe). Loved that there was a small fridge, microwave, & coffee maker!! Very clean at least!
