Holiday Inn Express Washington DC SW - Springfield

It was rather disappointing, it was not as good as the ratings said, and it is also 1.9 miles from the nearest metro station, not 1 mile. The breakfast was poor, but it was in walking distance of many great restaurants. The beds were comfy, but the room was tiny and so was the bathroom. The water pressure was fair but it took about 5-6 minutes to get hot and sometimes it would change temperatures in the middle of the shower unprompted. Overall it was a fair hotel but I wouldn't suggest it to my friends.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. I would have given 5 stars, but the rooms don't have USB ports and the general hotel temperature was hot. Hot and cold breakfast, as well as make your own bag if you are in the go. I would go back again.

Great location, but loud at night. We enjoyed the breakfast and coffee bar.

Worst experience ever!! Parties held Friday and Saturday. The party guests took ALL of the hotel guest parking, so us and another car pulled in front of the entrance and they did make someone move their car so I could park, but the other car just had to park in front of the building, it was ridiculous. Music from the massive parties is allowed to play until midnight and we could still hear it on the 7th floor!!!! Adults were heard until about 3 am talking loudly back and forth through the hall. It was also continued very early in the morning to now include kids running and screaming up and down the halls like it was a playground. There was no regard for others. Let's talk about breakfast, the most rude woman was managing the breakfast area. The food kept running out which made each group of people have to wait or just not get food. If someone asked to have something refilled, she acted as if you were burdening her, but the "greeter" and her husband were hand served by this woman every time she did fill up the food. No gravy for the biscuits, maybe a mid-Eastern thing, so butter and jelly worked until they had none. Then she snapped "none today". I typically LOVE staying at Holiday Inn Express hotels and have stayed at several all through the United States, but will never give another penny to this one. I will find another one to stay at or will go to a different chain. It's unfortunate because I frequent this area, but should be able to relax when I choose. I do NOT recommended this location unless you'll be out partying all night and won't be around to experience what we endured for our 5 day stay.

Allowing pets is the only upside to staying at this property.

All the staff were very nice and accommodating. It was a home away from home. The breakfast was very delicious. The hotel is very clean. Will be returning very soon.
