Holiday Inn Express Dubuque-West

We stayed there for our family Christmas party. About 1 hour into our party my son comes into the meeting room and was followed by the toothless front desk lady. He was being yelled at for dropping his ball in the stairwell. I calmly asked the lady to lower her voice and explained that screaming at a child is not acceptable. She then proceeds to yell at me. I then asked for the managers info which she wouldn't provide me. A few other family members also tried to get the managers info but were also unsuccessful. I had to call the corporate office to get the info. It seems that all the employees are living there as they all are using the amenities along with the front desk lady's kid running back and forth from the pool to the front desk making the tile floor soaked and slippery. The hotel itself is wrecked. A wind storm came thru the area 3 days before we got there but the singles still laid all over the parking lot. It appears that little to no maintenance has been done. I wouldn't recommend this one to anyone. I can't believe Holiday Inn even has their name on it. Worst hotel experience ever. It was one meth'd up experience that's for sure.

Not a fan, especially when we typically stay at other IHG properties. Weed smoke EVERYWHERE in the hotel, everything feels dingy and dirty, and everything (staff included) needs an overhaul.

The only thing good about this hotel was it was pet friendly. We have stayed at the Galena Holiday inn and it was worse in regards to cleanliness. Take that as you will but we will not be staying at either Holiday Inns in Dubuque ever again! We are frequent visitors at many different Holiday Inns around the country and these two are by far the worst!

A place to sleep and that's about it

Positive: Staff was super nice Negative: The bathroom was not that clean. The toilet seat has black stuff on it. I was able to wipe it off. Was disgusting, Imay stay here again because it is close to where we want to be. But I will definitely speak up to the staff about the cleanliness next time

Location was excellent and staff is friendly. Parking is plentiful. Bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Room, Lobby and eating area chairs

As a business traveler, I have stayed in many properties including this one several times. I am reluctant to write this review as it is not my desire to call out property but---
Since my review is not being accepted- simply put, don't stay here.
