It's a older hotel it was decent O'Malley's is connected to it now they bartenders at night they not stingy. The elevator was slow but I didn't understand they got the pool and the hot tub going into the lobby. Crazy. The hot breakfast at O'Malley's was very good would I go there again probably not it's a lot of options around there so I will try some of those insteadReportRe: It's a older hotel it was ... All was excellent except the bathroom issues with water not draining. Other than that no other issues encountered.Report
The only complaint I have for my entire stay would be how my reservations were handled during check-in. The General Manager could have been more accommodating once he figured out, the hotel made a mistake and I was not trying to scam them. But that was not the case. If this mistake should ever happen again to a Spire Elite customer, the customer should be aloud to check in and then the hotel can verify the reservation on the hotels time and not hold up the customer while the hotel rectifies their (the hotels) mistake. General Manager could have handled situation in a much more accommodating manner.Report
DO NOT STAY HERE!! District manager very disrespectful and treats people horribly!Report
My initial impression was that this facility is in need of refurbishment -room doors appear well worn. Spots of black mold in the corners of the bath tub did not impress nor did the loose wallpaper under the sink.Report
The greatest concern, however, relates to Covid protocols. Signs in the elevator indicated that masks were required in all public places in the hotel but none of the staff, reception, restaurant or housekeeping, were wearing masks. When I asked about this I was informed that the state of Michigan did not require masks and the signs had been there for a long time (when was the elevator last cleaned, I wonder. The signs certainly looked a little dog eared.) Service from reception was perfunctory.
It was not open due to staff shortage. The hotel may have a problem with hiring staff and retaining if they do not offer any benefits.Report
