Sensei Sandra is a true professional and has such a great patient and calm way with the kids. She tries to build confidence and show my son that he can achieve the next grading level if he puts in the work, giving him a sense of empowerment.
Her classes have the perfect balance of fun, learning, and regulation.

I can't recommend Okukan dojo highly enough... Sensei Sandra is highly skilled and a fantastic teacher (for both adults and children). Meg, who works in the office, is very professional and friendly. The dojo is an inviting and well-equiped space. The classes are very fun and we get to practice a lot of different skills and activities - sparring, kata sequences, strength and fitness conditioning etc. The other students are very friendly and there's a great mix (in terms of age/gender etc).

Arigato gozaimashita!

Highly recommended!!!
Sensei provides a challenging yet welcoming environment. Training meets the needs of any ability while encouraging you to push your limits and strive for better.
It can be a bit nerve wracking starting out new but all the students and staff are very friendly and happy to help.
There's really no excuse. Get training!

I have had the most enjoyable experience at OKUKAN Karate. I was a bit hesitant to go at first, since I had no experience and don't see myself as the most active/fit person, but it definitely was not a problem. I always felt that every session was just the right difficulty, a bit hard but a good challenge!

My daughter joined Sensei Sandra since 4 years ago when my daughter was only 4 years old. Sensei Sandra is an excellent teacher and she is very good with kids of all ages. Sensei Sandra is also gentle and passionate in her teachings and her classes has the right balance of fun, discipline and focus. Meg, the Admin/Coordinator is excellent with the communication as well. Highly recommended!

My daughter really enjoyed her time with OKUKAN, and thought that Sensei Sandra "was really nice". We are sad to be taking a break, it's purely due to too many after school activities and clashes. I hope for us to be back next term. As a dad I am especially keen to see my daughter return to Sensei Sandra as she seemed to strike a great balance between kids having fun learning but also getting enough discipline, structure and serious environment to build confidence and resilience. Thank you
