We highly recommend Montano's Landscaping. We did a complete backyard redo incorporating both hardscape and landscape updates. Carlos and his team were amazing from the start. Their pricing was reasonable. They were very collaborative during the design process. They started on time, worked incredibly hard, finished on time and on budget. They even completely mulched our front yard which was not part of the scope. The end result, their craftsmanship, is the real reason for this review. Our backyard has been completely redesigned and their work is top notch.

We are so pleased that we chose to work with Carlos and Montano's Landscaping! Our project was relatively small, but Carlos was responsive and made us a priority from the start. He communicated very well, from the initial appointment to provide the quote through to the end of the process. He provided thoughtful suggestions and was simultaneously receptive to what our needs and requests were. We are thrilled with how our new decorative retaining wall looks and what it brings to the front of our house. His crew was respectful of our property and left it cleaner than when they arrived. Anytime we have another hardscape project we will look to Montano's in a heartbeat.

Montano's Landscaping transformed our retaining wall from the 20th to the 21st century, resulting in a clean and newer look to our house overall. Landscaping companies have different designs, but Carlos's vision was clean and complemented the house's design and improved function, exactly how we wanted. Carlos explained the design intent clearly, and most importantly for me, answered all my questions at our original meeting and by follow-up emails. His father, Juan, managed the work, which included multiple reviews of the progress daily to make sure we were on the same page, as he told me. I am a perfectionist, and the work exceeded my expectations. The details such as the recommended UniLock block type, having the wall run into the driveway at the same height and stepping the blocks down at front and back are perfect. These are the factors that make Montano's a great value. The team that worked at our house was professional, respectful and finished the landscaping perfectly with a clean yard. We just completed a very large hardscape/landscape project with Carlos and we could not be happier! Carlos is one of the most honest and transparent people I have worked with to date. He created a beautiful space out of a muddy mess and was engaged in the process personally from start to finish. We had a few delays due to a company unrelated to Montano's in which Carlos and his crew helped us work through even though their job was technically done.
I quoted out multiple companies to do the job and Carlos fell in the middle of the quotes but I chose him for his honest options and prompt communication and I am so happy I did.

We got Patio done with Montanos. I took quotes from multiple companies and Carlos gave me one of the best price. He was very professional and transparent with everything as part of the contract signing. His employees were also very friendly and they are always ready to answer any questions. Workmanship is amazing and I am glad I went with Montanos. Carlos dad is at site everyday helping other crew members. As part of the work doing the patio, there was some damage to the lawn due to the heavy vehicles they use but they took care of cleaning all that up and did overseeing before they closed the project.

Carlos and his team were absolutely fantastic! Carlos came up with some great ideas to help compliment our existing landscape. He and his team were efficient, professional, and kept everything top notch, just in time for our gender reveal!! We had a wonderful experience with Montano's landscaping, from planning and estimating through install. Carlos heard our needs, designed a 'blue-sky' plan as requested but then worked with us to scale it to fit within a defined scope and budget. He was responsive and patient, bringing a great amount of expertise to the table to guide us. We were equally impressed with the crew that completed the work effort. Hard working, friendly, meticulous in their craft... the end result is better than we had envisioned. I highly recommend Montano's to anyone considering landscaping work.

Carlos and his crew designed and built us an absolutely gorgeous stonework patio and integrated low voltage lighting system. His design was beautiful and we had him build it exactly as designed, including color choices. The crew worked straight through to completion, demolishing and removing a large 17 year old deck and underlying old concrete patio through the finishing touches on integrated plantings and lawn restoration. They are not cheap, but you get what you at for.

Our neighbors now tell us we have a "million dollar" backyard. Couldn't be happier and we are now in the early phase of working with them to do some serious work at our daughter's house.

The person from Montano landscaping came out for estimating patio, showed a real attitude (similar to another review below) and wanted to build the patio his way or won't build!!!. What an attitude. Will not use this firm for any work ever going forward.

Hello, We follow city code guidelines, take grading/drainage factors, and surrounding landscaping (amongst other potential issues) into consideration when planning a design, all of which impact the layout of a patio. We try to suggest ways to incorporate the homeowner's wants into a design that will logistically work with those considerations in mind. Unfortunately we are not able to take on a patio project that won't function properly or could potentially run into structural issues when these factors are ignored. Montano's Landscaping had recently completed installing a new patio at a good friend's house when they referred us to Carlos for an opinion on replacing our patio. Our friend's were very happy with the work Montano's had done and even more so personally with Carlos.

We initially contacted Montano's and another firm to provide a quote and initial design. There was no comparing the results. Carlos' initial design blew away the competition. Other than some general guidelines on size and cost, our only criteria had been that we didn't want to look out after the work was completed and wonder what had really changed.

We relied on Carlos' for the design ideas. We knew functionally (fire feature, island, kitchen, and accommodations for an outdoor video stand) what we wanted but we weren't quite sure of the materials or the layout. Carlos literally spent hours with us, dropping off samples, reviewing the positive and negatives, continuously looking for other materials based upon our feedback. We never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision. With each change in materials, Carlos provided a revised estimate clearly identifying the impact on price.

In the end, we chose natural Bluestone full color range for the base and Techo-Bloc Mini Creta blocks with Raffanato caps for the walls.

Work began with the removal of the old patio. The Montano's crew, led by Carlos' father, Juan, was fantastic. They were always open to questions, performed meticulous work, and cleaned up at the end of each day. The entire crew has the mindset of finish carpenters. Regardless of whether an area was visible or not (inside storage, for example), the inside was finished with flooring, etc.

We loved the look of the bluestone and had Montano's replace our front concrete walkway.

Today, we have the patio that we couldn't envision without Carlos' guidance. Through the process, we also gained a trusted friend in both Carlos and Juan. How rare is that?
