I cannot say enough good about Lindeblad. Simply, they are the best. This is my second restoration with them in the past ten years.

Please give them the time to do things correctly! They will not disappoint.

The piano has been in my family for over 100 years...my 102 year old Mother cried when she heard the beautiful and fresh sound.

The restoration required much expertise and was difficult. I visited their restoration shop and was impressed with what I saw.

Amazing experience with nice people. The delivery was very professional and in their own truck....Lindeblad leaves nothing to chance.

Lindeblad Piano Restoration is the absolute best place to purchase the perfect piano for yourself, family or studio.

As a first time buyer of a Steinway, I was not sure what I was getting myself into… all I knew is I wanted the perfect piano at a fair market price. It was a gift for my granddaughter that’s been playing since she was 6 years old, and now 10 years later is an accomplishment pianist. Therefore, I needed the piano to sound as lovely in our home as it does when she plays in a professional sound studio. I can truly say I was nervous… wanting to buy the right piano for her. I have looked everywhere, at local piano studios and even driven several hours to test various pianos, but couldn’t find a high quality piano at a reasonable market price.

I saw an advertisement that caught my eye… Lindeblad Piano Restoration, in Pine Brook, New Jersey. I read the reviews that spoke highly of the quality and workmanship of their restoration. But, I was still not sure being I live (1,273.7 mi) from Lindeblad Piano Restoration. The distance itself made it impossible for me to drive or fly there to test the performance of a soundboard – Or, pedals to test sustain.

I contacted Lindeblad to continue my search for the perfect piano. I spoke to Todd Lindeblad which answered all my questions and concerns. We exchanged several emails and calls… Todd is extremely responsive to every single call or email I sent him. He listened to my request and found the perfect Steinway M that met our requirements of quality and price. I could not ask for an easier, kinder person to work with in my search. Todd is a professional and very knowledgeable of a verity of piano brands and models. And, he understood exactly what I was looking to buy my granddaughter.

Todd sent me a link to the “1973 Steinway M” in his show room, so I could listen to the sound and view it’s beautiful cabinetry. I was amazed at the sound and appearance of this beautiful masterpiece, but would it sound the same in my parlor? It did… it sounds amazing and better than I expected… it was everything it was advertised to be and more. I purchased the 1973, Steinway Model M, witch occupies a cherished place for many in the Steinway spectrum of grand pianos.  At 5’7”, the Model M is situated between the smaller (5’1”) Model S and the larger (5’10”) Model O. Steinway has called the M their Studio Grand. “The Model M still retains a sound that richly fills my home without being overwhelming.  This is due to its Steinway perfect condition soundboard.  Its responsive action produces a touch that can engage any style of music.

The delivery was scheduled with precision timing. The delivery was on time and setup was done perfectly. I can’t thank the Lindeblad team enough for making my purchase as seamless as possible. My Granddaughter played her new piano as soon as it arrived and was set up. We could not tell it traveled from so far and still sounds excellent. My local technician came by to look at my new 1973 Steinway M… he couldn’t believe it played so beautiful and was in such perfect condition as promised me by Todd Lindeblad.

Thank you, Todd and team, from the bottom of my heart . You’ve made my dream of purchasing this piano for my granddaughter come true.

One year ago we sold our home in the Philadelphia area and moved to Charleston. Lindeblad picked up our 1930 L Grand and lovingly restored it during the time it took to have our new home built. They communicated with us during the process and arranged for our "baby" to be very professionally delivered and set up for us last Thursday. They also arranged for it to be tuned today. They take pride in their work and covered all the details to be sure our piano is well taken care of.

Working with Sean and his co-workers was wonderful - a truly memorable, worthwhile, and remarkable experience. They really love, know, and value Steinways, and we highly recommend working with them.

Review Lindeblad Piano Restoration

What do you do when your piano tuner tells you your 61-year-old Steinway B was in trouble and needed a complete restoration? Well, panic, first. Then research. Lindeblad Piano Restoration was our first choice because it was family run and was approaching the fifth generation with a total of 101 years of experience. Their videos provided absolute clear information of the process to be followed. So, in August 2021 their piano movers arrived, carefully wrapped the piano in bubble wrap and mover’s blankets and wheeled it through the house into the truck.
Five months later, my piano returned to the premier location in my music room. How can you explain perfection? The same glorious singing tone was intact. The new German action was perfect. I cannot keep my hands off the keys. Even missing veneer was replaced. Strings, pin block, pins, and action replaced rusting strings, slipping pins, and totally worn-out action. In fact, only original parts of the piano were the case, harp, sound board, keys, and pedals. I knew Lindeblad Piano Restoration would care for my piano as if it were their own. They were in touch with me through out the five months. I was even able to choose a pianist friend to play it before it was shipped back. I love my Steinway B. It sounds pretty. It is a pleasure to play. Choosing Lindeblad Piano Restoration over two other companies was the best decision I could have made.

We recently moved to NJ from NYC in 2021 and I knew that I wanted to restore my grandmother's Brambach piano, which was living in my family home in MD and severely sun damaged. From pickup through the many steps of the restoration process, Todd and his team were extremely communicative and answered many questions I had about what would be needed to make the piano a playable, cherished family heirloom once again. We could not be more thrilled with how the piano and bench turned out on this petite baby grand. It fits our space perfectly and the delivery/installation was perfection. I highly recommend Lindeblad for your piano restoration needs, adding that their customer service is exceptional.

If you're reading this review, I'm sure (a) you have read reviews before and are looking for ways to be discerning and (b) are a sophisticated shopper. I share that because we've all read reviews in the past of lovely businesses and great customer service. I'm writing to share that Lindeblad Piano Restoration, and Todd in particular, are a cut above. I found the company to be extremely responsive, kind, patient and flexible. Most importantly, they have really sound judgment and it's clear they have expert craftsmen.

We had an old piano and Todd and his team picked it up, examined it, made videos of it and then held multiple phone calls with us explaining the potential work to be done -- the pros/cons of doing each piece of work, the price of each piece of work, and a recommendation for each potential piece of work. We're truly grateful for Todd and the team at Lindeblad!

Really wonderful business, run with traditional, personal customer service values that are rare these days. But even more important is the quality of the craftsmanship. The cabinet and finishing work on this 1913 Model B is impeccable. The sound and touch perfect to my taste. The pin block must have been done very well - it has held its intonation despite transfer from the Lindeblad facility to a truck and to my home. I highly recommend Lindeblad!

When my elderly neighbor moved away in May 2021, I bought her 1925 Steinway Model M. She had been given the piano as an engagement present in 1961, and they're still married, so it's not only a lovely piano, it has a lovely story! She took great care of this piano and it showed, but nevertheless, it was tired. The case was cloudy and dull, the ivory keys were in good shape but dirty, the harp had some pock marks and chips as well as the piano needing some routine maintenance. I'm so happy I found Lindeblad while I was considering whether or not to buy her piano. From the moment I talked to Todd, I was sure the piano - and I - were in good hands. Lindeblad arranged for movers to pick up the piano from my neighbor's and took it back to New Jersey for a complete restoration. It was hard to be patient, but I knew real artisans were at work. I took delivery of my restored Steinway last week, and it is even more beautiful than I could have imagined. It is gleaming. It looks like a brand new 1925 piano, and it plays and sounds amazing. It is an absolute dream. I cannot thank Lindeblad enough for their meticulous work and care. The customer service is top-notch with everyone I was in contact with being very responsive and helpful. My "new" Steinway Model M will last for another 100 years. I can only hope I get to steward it for as long as my neighbor did! If you are considering Lindeblad, you will not be sorry. It is a heritage, family owned business that still operates with a deep commitment to quality customer service and quality craftsmanship. You won't be disappointed. As for me, I'm over the moon. Thank you Lindeblad Pianos!!

We had the pleasure of traveling to New Jersey to meet with Todd Lindeblad at his company headquarters, and to
see first-hand what goes into a full restoration of a Steinway through their process. Right from the start, we received a warm welcome from Todd, a comprehensive tour of their showroom and many finished pianos, and then we visited the factory. Todd was amazing, very attentive and informative. He answered all of our questions patiently, told great stories about some of the pianos from around the world that Lindeblad Pianos have restored. He also talked about the nature of this business as a multi-generational family mission and passion, which is a large part of what makes a Lindeblad restoration so special. During our factory tour, we were blown away by the very evident old-world craftsmanship and the
obvious passion and attention to detail demonstrated by everyone that we interacted with. The warmth, friendliness, and open accessibility to the expert craftsmen on the production floor really made
us feel confident in our contemplation of Lindeblad Pianos as a great option. We interacted with many of Lindeblad’s craftsmen and specialists, including an impressively experienced technician named Galo
who explained a new soundboard that he was installing as part of another restoration process (we later had him sign our piano!).
We looked at many options, balancing condition, cost, features, and ultimately selected a beautiful, sturdy 1926 Steinway Model B from their extensive pre-restoration inventory. Todd helped us understand and walk-through examples of every step of the restoration process, so that we could intelligently make various selections around the ultimate configuration of our particular restoration project. This further instilled
confidence in the entire process and bolstered our experience as a customer as we interacted with the actual people performing the necessary work to re-craft these special instruments. The restoration finish we chose was a two-toned configuration that is really unique and stunning – a glossy hand-polished piano-black outside, and a custom-laminated cherry-stained interior that elegantly features both the
external and internal beauty of our Steinway. We grew a lot of confidence by seeing in-person what the Lindeblad Piano people do, how they do it, all in an atmosphere so obviously filled with genuine passion for these instruments – coupled with so many impressive, combined years of experience in doing this specialized work – some even having learned this craft building brand-new Steinways over decades before coming to Lindeblad Pianos. This simply made us feel very comfortable – and even excited – about going the restoration route vs. pursuing a brand-new piano, or alternately buying a second-hand piano “as-is” out in the open market, where it seems the risks can be quite high relative to condition, remaining life, cost, value, etc.
We are very fortunate in that all four of our sons have also cultivated and invested in the joy of making music while they were growing up. All of them play, and among our greatest memories are spending time with them, watching and listening to them master various pieces of music that they learned to play on the piano. Our Lindeblad-restored 1926 Steinway Model B is a stunningly beautiful, customized piano that is already a true heirloom piece for our family. We are so pleased to have made this
investment, and to be able to continue building new memories when our boys, friends, etc. visit our home and play this special yet accessible instrument. This is now the perfect instrument for us to use
together, to continue to build upon our mutual love of music, fellowship, laughter and emotional bonding that quality pianos are just so good at facilitating. We absolutely love our “new” / Lindeblad-restored Steinway, and we will continue to fondly remember and recount to others about the truly special experience we had in working with your company.
