Intrepid Builders

I have built new every home I've ever lived in and I have to say this was the worst experience I have ever encountered. If I could go lower than 1 star I would. Not only was the process of construction difficult, to say the least, getting things addressed since we moved in has been nearly impossible. I have waited a year to write this review. Based on prior behavior, if Jason gets his feelings hurt, he refuses to respond to you.

Prior to the start of construction, we told Jason that any on site meetings would need to be done on a Saturday as my husband is still working and we lived 2 hours away. However, I was contacted and told that we had to meet with the electrician, on a Tuesday, or we would lose him for at least a month. So my husband took off work, we made the 2 hour drive. When we arrived on site, the electrician never showed, Jason came but without drawings, nothing to write on or write with and ............ we still lost the electrician for a month at least. The house was literally turned over to us on the very last day before he would have gone into default of the contract. The structure of the house if ok but the finished were slammed in at the last minute to meet the date. This resulted in a substantial punch list and one year walk thru list.

We will have been here 2 years next week and the one year warranty walk thru list was finally finished today . I was told day after day that someone would come by. I rearranged my schedule several times in order to meet them and they would either not show, show up hours late or only work for an hour. Then once the list was near the end, they refused to fix a number of things such as the cracked custom backsplash where the hood was screwed too tight, cleaning the efflorescence off the foundation, and the best of all , the hardware for the screened porch door is installed backwards. The lock and closure are on the outside. I was told this was the correct installation. I have never seen a door installed with the lock outside. This is just a few of the things that remain deficient.

Although I asked many many times, we were never given any close out documents. No warranty information. No owners manuals. No list of subcontractors so we could contact them if we needed something addressed.

This is just a highlight of the misery this company has put us through. RUN, do not walk, to another contractor!!! I cannot stress this enough. This company is not worth the stress and anguish they will put you through. There are other homes being built around here. One by Intrepid and several by other contractors. Although the other contractors started later, their homes are finished where Intrepid's is still under construction.
So nothing has changed.
