The Bailey's have lived at Emerald Heights retirement community since moving from Maryland in 2009. We love that our home is a lovely apartment in a building of only three stories, on a 38 acre campus, with a forested nature area. A very well equipped Workshop is available with most power tools upgraded for current technology for the safety of resident users. Included on Campus are raised Garden Plots for residents. Our town of Redmond still has a small town feel in spite of Microsoft being headquartered here.Report

Very disappointing. 2 of 5 is being generous. Better turn this around, and fast. Cant mention specifics as it would violate medical confidentiality but this will be worthy of a seattle times investigation if this place does not improve.ReportRe: Very disappointing. 2 of ... My grandparents have lived there for 10 years now and I visit weekly. I will admit that it is a nice facility but when you take into consideration how much they pay the following issues is what makes it a bait and switch.Report
The main elevator has been out over order for more than it has been working over the past 2 years. The management says it's because they had to make a part by hand.... I don't buy it for a second. They also switched elevator maintenance companies from a highly rated one to one with one star reviews....
Next their dining room. Over the years it has been up and down for wait time but they always have had full service and the quality has been decent. Within the last 3 months they have switched to almost all buffets. This is hard on residents who use scooters and walkers trying to carry a plate, serve themselves and walk. This also makes the quality of the food go way down.... Between those things it keeps a lot of residents from going down for meals.
Finally, they put in more apartments before expanding the already crowded corwin center even though they had made promises to expand the center first. That is a big selling point when going there but in reality you have about the same chance at getting in there as you do winning the lottery.
In summation, the quality of the establishment has declined and continues to. Promises haven't been kept, money saving practices are being put in place despite raising prices, and all they are offering are lame excuse with no real solutions and even if they did why would anyone believe them... As a loved one of residents, I want to warn those who are looking to put theirs there as well. There are many other nice assisted living communities that don't cost nearly as much and provide every promised.Re: My grandparents have live ... Emerald Heights replied on Wednesday, April 4th 2018Morgan, it's been a pleasure to serve your grandparents during the last decade, but I'm disappointed your visits recently haven't lived up to our normal standards or expectations. We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss your concerns and address any misperceptions you may have regarding our dining service, planned expansion at the Corwin Center or any other of our services or amenities. Please feel free to call me directly (425-556-8106) or we can arrange a meeting at Emerald Heights to coincide with one of your upcoming visits. Grant Linacre Executive Director, Emerald Heights
