Her mom sold real estate in Chicago for twenty years, where she grew up. In the 1970's, Ellen attended the University of Illinois and graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism. Before being licensed as a realtor, she taught foreign language in both Madison and Middleton, so she's very familiar with these areas' school systems.
