Stay away from Matt

The gentleman that served as my point of contact, Mr. Schmidt, was ultimately coming across as very pushy and unprofessional. Sure, I was unable to respond to an email in 72 hours due to my work-life schedule, but signing off when stating that you're closing the file with:
"We wish you all the best, in your pursuit of coverage, as you'll have a difficult time obtaining policies." is simply unnecessary and does not make one want to continue to engage, even if they're potentially the best company to ever help folks with diabetes get coverage.

Highly recommended company!!! Matt was extremely helpful and made the process of finding life insurance an ease. Clear and regular communication throughout the process, exceptional knowledge of diabetes, and expanded information needed for application for clear communication with underwriting.

I can't thank the team enough. I would go days/weeks without communicating and ALWAYS received one back. The communication is outstanding. Not to mention, after being denied by many other companies I was able to find coverage without having to go to an exam. I am extremely satisfied about everything I received from Diabetes Life Solutions.

It was a pleasure to work with Matt from Diabetes Life Solutions. He guided me through every step of my life insurance search and made the whole situation easy to navigate. I had been worried because of my diabetes but I believe I was treated fairly, helped out respectfully, and in the end I'm happy with the results. I now feel more protected and leave the whole experience pleasantly surprised with how quickly the process was.

Diabetes Life Solutions did a great job securing a life insurance policy, even though I've had type 1 diabetes since I was 3. I'd recommend any with type 1 diabetes, who's looking for coverage, to contact them.

Dealt with the owner Matt Schmidt. He was very friendly and helpful initially. Had to postpone my initial home exam due to work. I'm a police officer. He emailed me stating i was a no show for my exam which I explained to him that was not the case and I rescheduled. A few days prior to my rescheduled exam I had emergency brain surgery due to a ruptured cyst. I emailed Matt to let him know what was going on. He responded by stating if I would have never rescheduled my initial exam I'd have coverage. He was very unprofessional and apathetic. I just had brain surgery and didn't know if I'd ever be the same so the last thing I wanted to be reminded of is me postponing an appointment. He also became very condescending mentioning how he's the owner and stated I declined being reexamined in 6 months which I never declined. I also explained to him that it's been difficult finding affordable life insurance being a type 1 diabetic and thats when he went on to say he offered me to reapply which I denied which simply wasn't true. I asked him to forward my email stating I declined the offer and he never responded. His reaction to my situation shows he doesn't care about peoples well being and its strictly business for him.

Matt, would you like for me to to forward you our email conversation as to remind you of how you reacted to the news of my surgery? ‘Issues’ huh? Hopefully people can see how condescending that sounds and your reaction to my review for what it really is. Please point out one statement in my review that is not 100% accurate. Never did I say anyone didn’t work tirelessly or didn’t offer me options for the future. So what’s not accurate? And since when is a statement saying “it is what it is” and “thank you for your time” on the CURRENT issue declining a future offer? I also never stated anyone was rude or disrespectful. I actually stated YOU unprofessional and apathetic, to be exact. Again I ask, what’s not factual? Lastly, you gave no response to you stating if I didn’t reschedule my initial appointment I’d have coverage as if something that can’t be changed was currently relevant. May I remind you that was your very first statement you gave to after I told you I just had emergency brain surgery. Oh, might I also mention I received no response back after my offer to forward you my emails proving I never declined reapplying in 6 months. Or, how about when you stated I was a “no show” for the initial appointment when I clearly rescheduled? I also have that email as well.
