About Central Texas Periodontics
Periodontists receive extensive training, including three additional years of education beyond dental school. We currently have multiple locations in Austin and Central Texas where patients can conveniently seek the professional care of a periodontal specialist. Our staff includes Dr. Callia who graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry as an honors graduate in oral surgery, then completed his masters degree in oral biology and received his specialty certificate in Periodontics from Baylor College of Dentistry. He is a member of many professional organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Capital Area Dental Society, and Academy of Osseointegration.
Dr. Rishin Desai is originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania and completed his undergraduate and dental degrees through a combined program offered by Muhlenberg College and The University of Pennsylvania. His residency was at The University of Rochester immediately following dental school and then Dr. Desai spent four years in Philadelphia working in private practice and further exploring the various aspects of periodontal and implant dentistry. In Philadelphia, he worked closely with one of the pioneers in implant dentistry and gained a large amount of experience in implant placement utilizing the Osteotome Sinus Technique.
Dr. Desaico-authored two publications, “Using drill stops on twist drills to promote safety and efficiency when creating osteotomies for dental implants.†in the Journal of the American Dental Association (April 2014) and “Stability of treated angular and horizontal bony defects: a retrospective radiographic evaluation in a private periodontal practice.†in the Journal of Periodontology (February 2009).

Central Texas Periodontics ReviewsLEAVE REVIEW FOR BUSINESS
I am not a big fan of the dentist but I felt very comfortable at this office. Staff was incredibly friendly and the place was extremely clean! Now to the good part…. A heatable massage chair, how relaxing while getting your work done right?!?!
The doctor is incredibly friendly and explains everything to you at ease. I had 100 percent trust while in his chair. I called around to get quotes and they are right on point if not less than a few outlier local places.
Thank you to the doctors and all the wonderful people working with him! :)
I didn't appreciate the nurse pulling her mask down below lip level to talk to me right after my son told her I have been extra careful about covid. My husband is immune comprised and it's important for my family to feel safe. Obviously she didn't hear a thing we said or just was one of those people who only care about themselves. My son will not be receiving his procedure here.
Outstanding service. I have used CTP for several years due to a substandard dentist doing poor work on my teeth. Slowly but surely CTP has been fixing my teeth. Though not a very thing is covered by my insurance, they explain cost vs longevity of my teeth. I recently move 40+ miles from their office but still go to them. I broke a tooth and they made time to quickly evaluate me and schedule a procedure to correct it. Everyone at that practice cares about us. From the professional receptionist, dental techs and the doctor. Well done!!
