About Bond Vet - Park Slope

Bond Vet — Park Slope is a thorough and modern veterinary clinic in the Park Slope neighborhood of South Brooklyn, on5th Avenue between Degraw and St. John’s Place. We are a veterinary clinic for walk-in and urgent care for pets, meaning any symptom that requires timely treatment or attention, whether it’s a wound, diarrhea, a rash, limping, coughing, breathing problems, behavioral changes or other serious symptoms. Our mission at Bond Vet is to strengthen the human-animal bond through better veterinary care. While we specialize in urgent care, we offer all medical services that a primary care clinic does, including routine wellness exams, vaccinations, spay and neuter, mass removals, dental cleanings, and even specialty orthopedic surgeries — you can come to us for immediate care, and we are also happy to be your primary care veterinary clinic. You’ll notice quickly that Bond Vet feels different, and that’s intentional.

I requested a fully sedated exam, even rescheduled to accommodate for this type of exam only to be told the day of that the vet will not do it unless it’s “necessary” and that the vet will be the one to make that determination after trying to exam my extremely fearful and anxious dog (sedation was actually Bond's own suggestion after our last visit). My dog was calmer than expected so I let it go until he started to freak and I said no I need a fully sedated exam. The vet refused. The vet completely disregarded what I had to say and pushed things I didn’t want. I should've just left, but was convinced that he might just be overprotective and needed me to leave the room. I came back into the room only to see a towel wrapped around my dog's neck, one on his face, and a tech pinning his neck and body against the wall. I had already told them he had a bad experience of another vet pinning him to a table and that it left him fearful and anxious and yet they still did that. I asked for a sedated exam to completely prevent something like this from happening, but was told it would be cheaper to not do a sedation. When I insisted on sedation, I was told the vet flat out refused even though that was the whole reason why I rescheduled my appointment. When I asked about anxiety meds, the vet was rude and acted like I had no idea what I was talking about. She cut me off, dismissed my concerns, and told me there was nothing she could do to help me.

I will never come back to any Bond Vet and will never recommend to anyone. We have had one previous good experience here, but this was unforgivable. The vet techs are all very friendly and patient, but the vets are inconsistent and the one who we met with this past week was rude and didn't seem to care about my dog or my concerns. After speaking to other dog parents in the area, it seems like this is a common issue that people have experienced with a quickly expanding practice with tons of recruitment issues.

We are in this great vet clinic since Sunny was one month old. I love the ease schedule and the staff is really incredibly friendly all the time.

In general, I really like Bond Vet--as corporate vets go. I still miss the small business vets who don't seem to have survived Covid in NYC. Still, I have found Bond Vet to have caring doctors, good response time, a willingness to spend time on the phone answering questions, and to have reasonable prices, all things considered. If you only need regular care for your pet, consider yourself fortunate; Bond Vet does a very good job with "normal" health issues. If you find yourself needing a "specialist," well god help you...because then you'll be in a morass of huge charges and limited doctors in the NYC area of widely varying skills, both with animals and with people. But despite ending up in that situation with a cat who has lymphoma, I still find the doctors and staff at Bond Vet to be kind, generous with their time, and decently qualified; they do not gouge on their prices, either, which I really appreciate.

I trust their ability to help my pets when in need. Very caring staff. Very professional service. Office is modern and bright. Very good appointment and follow up procedures. Often can get an appointment very quickly. They text with appointment reminders. I think prices are reasonable. You are informed of the costs of each treatment/test before you finalize payment. I highly recommend them without any reservation.
I have used services from both the Park Slope and Cobble Hill branches.
Thank you to all the staff of Bond Vet!

Thank you Bond Vet! I just moved to Brooklyn from Manhattan so I needed a new vet for my cat. We had our first visit today for a small issue, and the staff was so sweet. They disclose all costs beforehand, which put my mind at ease. They did a thorough exam. My kitty was definitely nervous but the vet and her assistant were great with her. And me, the nervous cat mom. The vet is never fun for anyone, so I am grateful for the calm, clean, reassuring atmosphere there.

I did not have a good experience at this location. Dr. LaNae Aldridge and nurses were so impersonal, dry, quick, and dismissive of my concerns. It felt as if they were doing me a favor just being in my presence. I have never felt so unwelcome. Moreover, twice the doctor added what seemed to be important notes that were sent to me afterwards saying it was communicated to me verbally when it was not (again, her "consultation" was 5 minutes at most)- it was clear she copied-pasted from a template and did not even bother personalizing it for my puppy. I would not recommend this location. (I had great experiences at the Clinton Hill and Cobble Hill locations! :)

I absolutely love bond vet clinics. I originally found them about a year ago when I got my rescue miniature dachshund who had ALOT of health issues. He spent some time in the ICU at an emergency hospital and when It was time to get him checked up and get his vaccinations I was looking for a clinic that had all the extra care he would need. My original vet also didn’t do surgeries so I was looking for a place that would be able to do his neuter when the time came. Bond came up and I looked in to all of the services they offer and decided to go with them. I went to another location in Manhattan which was absolutely amazing then when the park slope location opened up, and I got another new puppy I brought her here because It was closer to me. All of the bond locations are absolutely beautiful inside, clean and they even offer a free treat station for you pup while you wait. As soon as I walked in with my baby Bonnie the front desk staff was so excited to see and love on her. The vet techs and doctors are all also amazing and really take the time to spend with your animal, answer all questions and address any concerns you might have as well as offering different options. They truly treat your animal as if they were their own pet. They even send an email the next day to check in on how your baby is doing after their visit. If I could give 100 stars I would. Always happy and feel safe and welcomed with my babies in their care!

I’ve been to this location several times and had fantastic experiences. Today was especially memorable since I showed up 15 minutes late for my reservation and was worried my new pup wouldn't get seen. Yet, Alisa was able to get me into a canceled appointment an hour later as opposed to me just having to head home. Did having to wait an hour suck? Sure. But I was also late, and that was not their fault. Now once my Aussiedoodle was seen, Dr. Yu was caring and patient with both him and his new parents, who have only had him for a day! We appreciate all the recommendations and taking care of our lil puppy boy.

To cap off a great visit, Alisa and Cotrell at the front desk sang Christmas tunes and kept the vibes high. Thank you for making a potentially awful visit upbeat and pleasant all around!

My experience at Bond Vet-Park Slope was excellent! My cat required urgent care and my existing vet recommended I take him here. From the moment we arrived, through the examination (Dr. Caldwell is wonderful), explanation of options and then diagnosis and recommendations for treatment… everyone and everything was great. My cat can be difficult during exams, especially when he is in pain and they handled him perfectly. I have struggled in the past at two other Park Slope animal hospitals- where the staff seems to either not know how to or just don’t want to deal with my cat. Also those places still refuse to allow me to be in the exam room (which helps to keep my cat calmer). The vet technicians here at Bond knew what to do and reminded me that dealing with difficult animals is just part of the job! The facility is modern and clean and comfortable. I highly recommend!!
