Miriam, the sister of Moses, was the one who hid Moses in order to save him from Pharaoh's men who were killing all newborn Hebrew males. She was watching when Pharaoh's daughter found him, and it was Miriam who suggested to Pharaoh's daughter that Jochebed be asked to be the baby's nurse. It was that action that allowed Moses to be raised in familiarity with his Jewish background and culture.
