Baruch ben Neriah was a disciple, scribe, and loyal friend to the prophet Jeremiah. He wrote down the Jeremiah's prophecies as the prophet dictated them to him. Although he was sometimes overwhelmed by despair, as was his friend, he remained true to the ideals of Jeremiah. He is the author of the Book of Baruch, an apocryphal book, which recounts the revelation Jeremiah received in heaven.
