Simon Peter, one of the Twelve Apostles, was a fisherman in Galilee, when his brother Andrew, first told him about Jesus. He was present on the mountaintop for the Transfiguration, and denied knowing Him three times just after He was arrested. He was the writer of two canonical epistles and had the privilege of spreading the Word of Christ throughout the known world. He was crucified upside down by Nero for proclaiming his faith.
