Brandilyn Collins, best known for her "Seatbelt Suspense" thrillers, teaches fiction writing techniques at writers' conferences. She had Lyme disease, with two co-infections which she says attacked her joints like rheumatoid arthritis, her muscles like multiple sclerosis, and her brain's processing like Parkinsons. Those symptoms, coupled with side effects of chemotherapy, caused her to be unable to meet deadlines for her writing. In 2003, she was convicted to visit a Christian ministry called the Healing Rooms in Spokane, Washington. At the same time, a woman from the American Christian Fiction Writers was impressed to proclaim a 24-hour day of prayer for Brandilyn, although no one knew she was planning to go to the Healing Rooms on that very day. On her way home from Spokane, she stopped for lunch, and when she got out of the car, she realized that the pain was gone and she no longer needed her cane. She has been healed since that time and runs frequently.
