Dwight David Eisenhower (October 14, 1890 - March 28, 1969) was born David Dwight Eisenhower and nicknamed Ike. He was a 5-star General in the Army before being elected the 34th President of the United States. He served as president from 1953 to 1961. He was a hero in World War II, where he was Supreme Commander of the Allied forces in Europe and was responsible for overseeing D-Day.
