A fairly new breed, the Alaskan Klee Kai was developed in Alaska during the 1970s and 1980s. In Eskimo, klee kai means small dog. These dogs were bred using Alaskan and Siberian Huskies plus American Eskimo dogs. The result is a smaller, companion version of traditional huskies.
