Born on March 5, 1945, George Michael Dolenz, Jr. became famous as Micky Dolenz. Although he starred as Corky in the series "Circus Boy" years before he became one of The Monkees in 1965. He became the drummer and lead vocalist for the group only after taking accelerated lessons to learn to play the drums as well as how to lip synch, which was required in the first part of the series. He wrote and provided lead vocals for many of their songs, including "I'm a Believer" and "Last Train to Clarksville." He now does reunion tours with the group from time to time, and also provides voice-overs for many cartoon series.
