Still a very popular poet, many of whose phrases have passed into common English usage - "Nature, red in tooth and claw", "Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all". Best known poems include The Charge of the Light Brigade, The Lady of Shalott, and Crossing the Bar.
