Add ReviewIf I could give a 0/0 I would have. They offered me $18,500 for my truck, when I got there, they said they could only give me $16,000 for it. Crooked dealership, would not do business with them. DO NOT sell your vehicle to this dealership as they are only concerned with dollar value and not any of their customers.Report
Response to owner: I did call the manager at that number and he was a jerk. I believe his name was Hal Foster. So stop trying to be 2-faced and own up to y’all’s crooked dealings.
2nd response to owner: I had sent the VIN number as soon as the salesperson asked about my truck. Not sure if you realize it but the VIN number contains information as the vehicle had been in an accident. This information was provided to the salesperson BEFORE the offer of $18,500 due to the VIN being provided (check pictures). You are telling me that you didn’t know the information when your salesperson literally asked me for the VIN TO RUN THE CARFAX (check picture). Seriously?? You knew the information about the animal before the offer was sent to me. I drove 1.5 hours for y’all to only undercut us to $16,000 because of “disabling damage” (information that was known a week before due to VIN being provided) (same exact time as $18,500 offer was given to us). Any response to that? Once again crooked dealer and very bad manager, just own up to your mistakes instead of trying to save face.
Also, I spoke with 2 managers about the incident:
- One manager (very apologetic, offered us gas cards for our trip. Great management skills, kudos to you sir)
- Hal Foster (tried to argue with me. Must get past large ego in order to become effective manager)
I’ll be awaiting your response.
Update for all of you potential customers:
The owner decided not to respond back and their silence is very reassuring. Good idea to just take the hit and not respond back, probably advise from the good manager to Hal.
Another update!:
I did sell my truck to an honest person who brought the money as promised. Thankful for honest people who still know how to deal right! Unlike this deceptive dealership. Sometimes just trying to cheat people out of $2,000 isn’t the way to go! Hope your management skills are doing better, Hal.
YOU SHOULD BE BERY CAREBUYING USED CARS FROM HERE. We bought a used car and with three days the brake light came on, transmission light came on, paint started peeling, left tail light, brake light, and back up light quit working. After much back and forth they took the car back and we gave them a second chance. Three days into the second car the engine light came on and would not run. We took into a mechanic and it has issues as well. We called them back and they said too bad so sad. I WOULD AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! They are DIRTY!!!Report
So we have taken both cars to certified mechanics. The second car had very little to no oil in it when the mechanic checked it. This certified mechanic has said it looks like errors have been being cleared on this car. He believes the o2 sensor has been bad on the car. In this model you have to take the heads off to change it out. High cost according to the mechanic. So I ask you Mr manager since you guys don’t like to talk to people on phones what are the statistical odds 2 cars bought from your lot within a week go bad both times? How do you answer when we took the mini cooper to a certified cooper dealership they said the car should have never been sold? That all these conditions didn’t happen at one time, and they were clearly band aids out in place to hide things? My review still stands. No way 2 cars within 1 week go bad without something going on. Yes you worked to get us another car but for over a month of us continuously calling and calls not being returned, we pushed the issue. Clearly the customer isn’t important and I would be embarrassed if my name was equated to two bad cars in less than a week. And yes now I fully understand why you guys try to push the service plans so much….
I sold my car to Subaru of Spartanburg and personally met with Hal Foster! What an incredible experience. He was expedient, professional, and so helpful with the transaction. I appreciated his ability to handle everything and have other staff there to assist me and getting the paperwork completed! Thank you again and again!Report
Donique Harris is the most knowledgeable car salesman I have ever had the pleasure to do business with.Report
My mother-in-law was looking for a new vehicle that would be easier for her to get in and out of as she ages. Her arthritic knee was starting to hurt when she got out of her car, so she wanted something that was not as low as a car, but not as high as a big SUV.
Donique listened to everything she said and recommended a Subaru Forester. He not only recommended it, but he gave us information about the vehicle that far surpassed our expectations. Not only does he know everything about Subaru's, but he could tell us about every other make and model we asked about as well.
We never, ever felt pressured about anything, and his kindness and patience was amazing.
After considering several other makes and models, my mother-in-law LOVES her Subaru Forester and we definitely recommend this dealership and Donique Harris.
Fantastic service. I drove 400 miles into town, got gas and my Forester lit up like a Christmas Tree. Drove into Subaru of Spartanburg with no appointment, they tested my vehicle, found a known issue and offered me a car to drive while they fixed mine. Michael was very helpful and stayed in contact with me. Wish y'all were closer, I would definitely come back.Report
Service department works on commission, so proceed with caution. Had some maintenance done at 60k that could not be preformed by independent mechanic (CVT trans flush). They stated tie rod ends were shot. I’ve had vehicles with over 220k and never needed to replace tie rod ends, so it struck me as odd that it would be needed on a 2019 at 60k. Took it to a trusted independent mechanic, his consensus was that they were intentionally damaged, no signs of wear and tear, just rubber caps pushed back/maxed out to deplete grease. Also found fresh oil all around the tie rods. Independent mechanic looked at it the day before the dealer serviced it and completed an actually reasonably priced 60k service and said the tie rods were not in that condition when it left his shop. Came back and addressed my concern with an advisor. He was nice and explained that’s the way they found it + a video, but still the video could’ve been taken post tampering. No real way to prove they caused the issue, but how can you trust service advisors/technicians when they’re paid commission to up-sale….Report
I went to Subaru of Spartanburg to look at the Outback Wilderness, and I was impressed with the professionalism and customer service that Jonathan Meredith provided. I do recommend him to anyone in the market for a vehicle.Report
The experience was the best I have ever had at a dealership for service.Report
I'm only giving one star because 0 isn't an option. They quoted me a little over $12,000 for a used transmission to put in my 2016 Subaru Forester with just under 71,000 miles on it. You can get a new transmission for around $6,000. I called several other transmission shops around and they were shocked at the price quoted me here. Other shops offered to do it for half the price.Report
They also said I need 4 new tires for $669 all together for the tires. I had just replaced one of my tires not two months prior with a completely new one, and they said it's already at a low tread. My tires are still good! Also, they said with everything they need to do to the transmission, they could only give me $500-$1000 for it if I traded it in. I received extreme price gouging on everything they wanted to do. I will not be going back and I will be telling everyone to avoid them.
I carried my 2019 Subaru Outback in because the engine appeared to be knocking. Four techs/supervisors came to look it over. I addressed my concerns and I was promised their best technician was going to look at it straightaway. That in itself is unheard of. Luke sent me a video of their findings a couple of hours later and problem was readily fixed. I can't say enough about the quality of customer service especially Luke's exemplary standard of customer care. It's because of this dealerships extraordinary customer care standards that I own a Subaru and a Mazda and am about to purchase another Subaru from here. This place knows that because of their extraordinary customer care from purchasing to servicing they have customers for life.Report
