UPMC Shadyside

Was in the ED/ER last night for stomach pains and at least 3 different nurses commented on my stomach weight in negative ways. I didn't come to the hospital to be judged for how my body looks.. stuff like "wow looks like you're pregnant" or "looks like you have a bun in the oven" or a resounding "wow" from one of the male night staff nurses. Figure out what the problem is instead of being judgmental of your patients.

You know what's infuriating? A patient who has is currently going through absolute hell who just wants to spend time with their family inside where it's warm, but you refuse to allow that. It's not like the family is large, it's two other people. But instead they have to visit outside in the cold in an alleyway. We all know how much being with those we love so much lifts our spirits during the hardest moments. It shouldn't have to happen outside! Shame on the ones who made this rule. We're almost to 2022, time to understand we must live with covid, we didn't get a choice. So let's work with that and move forward and help these patients in all ways, including emotional support by getting comfortable INDOOR visits from family and other loved ones. This review has nothing to do with regular hospital staff, they're working so hard to serve others and that is always so appreciated.

Thank you so much to the staff, couldn't ask for a better experience.

My mom recently had her kidney removed due to an aggressive tumor. The entire staff have been welcoming, personal, & professional. Heroes truly do work there!

My Husband Frank Pastor was a patient in 4 west ICU for 6 days. He was released this past Sunday to Hospice Care at home. I cannot say enough about the wonderful care he received from the medical staff at your hospital. I've spent some time in the Pittsburgh area hospitals over the years but have never been as pleased as I am with your staff. Olivia our nurse for 3 days was the greatest of all, amazing care and TLC.
