UPMC Passavant - McCandless

My surgery was my first visit to this facility. Free parking thats easily accessible. I did NOT have to ask for directions throughout the facility because everything was clearly marked and easily accessible. I was taken in and prepared for surgery as soon as i arrived there was no waiting. There was an uncontrollable delay but i was kept informed as well as my family waiting. The facility was clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas that I actually took pictures. The staff was professional and informative and i felt safe and well attended to. I was discharged at 10pm and it was so smooth even though it was a very long day. The only issue that i had was that my prescriptions were sent to a nearby pharmacy that was unknown to me and my family and thsy were closed when i was discharged and we live about an hour north of the city. It was easily corrected in the morning and sent to my personal pharmacy near my home. I work in healthcare at a local hospital not affiliated with this facility and i can honestly say i was impressed with passavant mccandless. Most of all I observed the overall demeanor of the employees there and they appear happy and content which means everything to me since im not used to being the patient. I definitely will be recommending this facility and i will be sharing my experience amoungst my fellow coworkers

I've never seen anything like it before since the pandemic began. Like the seventh circle of h3ll.

Absolutely NO mitigation measures in the ER waiting room. Not a single soul was called back to be seen in the one hour and twenty minutes we were there. The lady sitting next to us said "I'm going to die here and nobody would care because the staff is just fooling around in the back - I can see through those doors."

We left after not being seen for my son's ear infection. We'll take our chances at home tonight.

I'll never be back.

I was here for cancer related issues in 2014. Most of the staff were great. There were a few who were not and pretty terrible to me. Overall this hospital is very clean and you have a private room. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have that when your healing. The tv had beautiful music to listen too. I didn't know if I would due from my stage4a cancer or not but a few people really were so kind to me that made it as good as it could be. Today I'm cancer free and I'm going to work in the healthcare field because I feel like giving back and helping others whom were in my position. No where is perfect. But I felt this place was very good to me.

Went to er on 4-25-2021 to get my right toe X-ray. Told me they were not sure if broke. Inconclusive. So they gave me a cloth Sandal to wear. When I got the bill they charged my insurance 1200.00. I have to pay approximately $700.00 out of pocket. I can buy the same item on Amazon for 23.00. I complained about it. Called billing department. Emailed them. Called my insurance company. UPMC will not adjust my bill. They coded it as a surgical boot. It was a black cloth sandal with Velcro that still has the tag on it saying made in China. I'm switching back to AHN

Horrible place. If you are sick or injured, don't come here. Nurses do not care about you. Had to sit next to a man in the ER that was in so much pain he was throwing up in a paper bag for hours. Nurses ignored him until a security guard stepped in and asked them to please help that poor man. The nurses put him in a wheelchair, wheeled him to the back hall, then left him there again. I understand everywhere is short-staffed and overwhelmed, but at what point should stuff like that be tolerated?

I had back surgery. Had a room in 5 wing. Everyone there was great. From the nurses to nutrition. I couldn't ask for better care.

Went for an ECG, walk-in, outpatient lab. Excellent experience from registration to lab with very little wait time. Efficient and friendly staff. (Positive past experience for bloodwork also) Would recommend.

The staff is always very kind. My husband had to have part of his leg amputated and has spent over 2 weeks here with some complications that were unforeseeable. The Doctors and nurses have all been very attentive. Even the cafeteria workers are always very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hospital.
