I used to volunteer at this hospital, and I have come here to visit several sick friends that were hospitalized. As a volunteer, I did a lot of gift wrapping for patients and I helped transported patients from different locations. This hospital can be a bit confusing to navigate because there's two entrances (one on fifth ave and the other on Terrance street) and there are on different floors, and the bridge to Presbyterian Hospital is on another floor. So if you are lost, ask somebody in the lobby and they are more than happy to help you!Report
The oncologist surgeon never was up front and honest. Hiding important information in the care of my brother. When he should have been receiving radiation they felt the need to leave him lay in there hospital for 2 weeks doing absolutely nothing for him. Two days before discharging him they decide to perform another surgery and complete a biopsy. Than send him home in such pain it could not b controlled. Sloppy sloppy care. Would never ever recommend Dr Kim and his team.ReportRe: The oncologist surgeon ne ... UPMC Montefiore replied on Tuesday, August 10th 2021Hi Anna. Where do I begin, my future husband had a 14 hour surgery here Monday and it went well under the circumstances. The waiting was gut wrenching… the staff was overall ok so not so much the morning shift person was very unprofessional and rude to the families of patients. She treated us as if we were an inconvenience to her with our loved ones having surgery. It's already scary enough without having to deal with ride people. The check is desk personnel are absolutely fantastic… very helpful and knowledgeable about the workings of the hospital and the policies.ReportRe: Where do I begin, my futu ... I had a kidney transplant here in 2019 and have always been amazed at the pleasant staff even in the hallways, not to mention my transplant team. I would give 10 stars for that experience!ReportRe: I had a kidney transplant ... We've shared your comments with our patient experience team. Have a great day!
All of the staff here (nurses, doctors, physical therapists, janitors, dietaty staff, etc.) are all really nice and helpful. however my only complaint is a major issue. the food service is terrible. the food tastes great but patients have to call to order their food themselves AND it takes an hour and a half or longer to get the food. so basically patients are responsible for their own meals, but we never know when we will get the meals. this is a major stressor for someone that went through major surgery. Any other hospitals (including presby next door to montefiore) has a way better system. they have food liasons that come to your room or call you to take your food orders and they take multiple meal orders at a time for the same patient. and all the patient meals come at the same time. That system is way less stressful on patients. Again, the staff here are great and every other aspect of my stay at montefiore was great. But, like I said, I would not stay at this hospital again, unless I knew that the food service had a better system.ReportRe: All of the staff here (nu ...
