I've never had such bad service at a restaurant in my life. We waited 40 minutes for a drink when there were probably 15 people in the whole place. Eventually we had to get up and leave. We also had trouble with our bathroom and had to use the lobby bathroom. I pray they have made some adjustments since we were there in October. It was a bad experience staying here. I'd be happy to give more feedback to management, but in the 3 days, 2 nights I stayed there was no manager to speak to. I was told they would contact me but obviously no one ever reached out. Im not complaining but I am warning people that for the cost they really don't have the attention to detail you'd expect. The view and the pool were the only saving graces.

It's been about 8 years or so since we've visited. A lot has changed but, unfortunately, not for the better.
I'll start with the positives: Location is wonderful. It is, overall, a beautiful hotel. The rooms are large and the beds are VERY comfortable. The rooms are clean EXCEPT what I'll talk about in the negatives. Food at The Roost is decent but a little overpriced for what you get. We were disappointed that the fireplace wasn't working and the waitress gave a long winded explanation about it not having worked properly for a while and she didn't really know when it would be. It's cool that there are filtered water coolers everywhere. We always bring bottled water when we travel but there was no need here.
Honestly, I only have one real negative. But it is pretty major: Topnotch has a mold problem. A big one. In our bathroom, there was mold all over the rim of the sink, all around the bathtub, on the tiles, there was even mildew/mold on the wall. And it's everywhere at the pool. If you're in the hot tub, look up. There is "vent" and it is wood and literally BLACK with mildew. It's just disgusting. And has to be unhealthy. They really need to do something about it. I honestly don't know how more people don't notice or complain about it because it's gross. And for the price you pay, it certainly isn't something you would expect. I wouldn't expect it in a Holiday Inn! It's really bad. Because of this, we probably won't return. It's a shame because this resort has so much potential. I just don't understand how they are allowing this problem to go unmitigated.

Hello Deanna, Thank you for taking the time to make us aware of your concerns. We have just in the last week completed a spa renovation that included not only new carpeting, but a full deep clean throughout the facility including sanitizing steam cleaning of all tiled spaces in the lounges, treatment rooms and poolside area. Rooms preventive maintenance is in full swing as we take great care with sanitizing measures throughout the property and I'm sorry that you experienced shortfalls. We take all of these concerns very seriously as we certainly want your experience to be in-line with expectations. Please feel free to reach out to us directly and we are happy to discuss and help put your mind at ease that the challenges you have mentioned are being addressed accordingly. The accommodation and grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed the mountain views. I must say however, that the lack of availability of massage appointments did take away from the experience, especially since it is noted as a Spa resort. My husband and I were unable to book a couples massage during our 3 night stay, despite trying to book 2 weeks before our visit. Also, charging hotel guests $20 to use lockers upset a few of the people we spoke to. The pool area was pretty busy, and people were leaving their clothes, bags and shoes around to avoid the locker fee. These are some of the reasons why I am unable to give 5 stars.

Hello Madhurima, Thank you for providing us with your thoughts. I'm sorry that the availability of treatments was a challenge, unfortunately demand has been such that oftentimes we are booked nearly a full month out. We always recommend at the time of of booking that you connect with both our spa and tennis center if you are planning on partaking in those experiences so that you can ensure they do have availability. In regards to the locker rooms, the $20 additional access is for the men's and ladies lounges which are included if you have a treatment, but are an additional charge above the resort fee for access without a treatment. They are ages 16+ and have private Sauna, Steam, jacuzzi and gas fireplace with a sitting area. There are two poolside changing rooms for men and women respectively and has a variety of combination lockers for guest use that are free to use. My apologies if we missed conveying that information correctly so that you could have secured your belongings. Please feel free to reach out to us directly before a return stay and we'll make certain we provide you the value that warrants five stars. Kind Regards, Jeremy Fraize Rooms Manager
