Dr. Gail Joiner received her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from Texas Southern University and received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Howard University, College of Dentistry in Washington, DC in 1997. She also received additional training as a General Practice Resident at Harlem Hospital for 2 years and after her pediatric training spent time as an Assistant Clinical Attending at the Harlem Hospital Dental Clinic where she provided comprehensive dental care to children. She earned her Certificate of Specialty in Pediatric Dentistry from the Post-graduate Residency Program at the New York Presbyterian - Columbia University Medical Center in 2004.
Dr. Joiner became Assistant Professor of Dental Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) within the Division of Pediatric Dentistry of Columbia University Health Care, INC. During this 6 year span, she was devoted to the health care needs of children by providing care through the Community Dentcare Network. In the school based dental clinic, Dr. Joiner treated patients and worked with the pediatric dental residents as they rotated through her dental site. At the Harlem Children Zone, she started up the clinic solely, treated patients, and assisted with setting up electronic dental health care records. She also had the opportunity to be filmed on the Oprah Show in a segment about Geoffrey Canada and healthcare model he created at the Harlem Children's Zone.
Dr. Joiner is also currently an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Southwestern Pediatric Dental Society. Dr. Joiner also had volunteered her time annually with “Give Kids a Smile Day†which is an event that promotes education, treatment and awareness around oral health issues affecting families throughout the nation.
Although Dr. Joiner spent most of her time on the east coast training to become an oral health care professional, she is from Texas. After welcoming her beautiful daughter into her life, she wanted to be closer to family and relocated to Fort Bend County and opened her office in Katy, Texas in 2015, Tiny Teeth of Katy.
