Overrated and definitely not a 5 star hotel.
I don't mind paying a thousand for a night but expectation should meet the price! So for what we saw, this hotel is over priced!

Well I don't know where to begin but this one was so far my worst luxury hotel experience.
Not venting but warning, DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY HERE!
I can not think of any pros at this hotel except for the location!
Cons on the other hand, I lost count.

There are many points that should be addressed!

1. VIP experience: When we checked in, we were the only one at that time checking in and no one offered us a glass of champagne. We asked for our elite upgrade, and they told us they have nothing availabel! Once we checked in and settled in our room my husband checked for the availability of possible upgrade, and well well we found at least three rooms available for that night and the night after. SO, DO NOT EXPECT TO BE TREATED AS VIP HERE AT ALL.

2. Reception and check-in experience: Unfriendly and un professional! We absolutely did not feel welcomed!

3. Room: Our room was dirty, not cleaned as expected, you could see dirt by side of the bed, even without lifting the bed skirt, and if you lift that bed skirt, OH BOY what you can find there. Please see the pictures.

4. brightness of the rooms: The lights were horrible as you would expect better light effects in a 5 start hotel room!

5. Sound proof: Only when you go to an onroad motel you can hear your next-door voices but clearly this 5 start hotel is an exempt! the kid next room was screaming her head off for almost 20 minutes, I could hear all things that poor girl was complaining of. we could also hear when they are in shower or ………..

6. In-Room Service: We were exhausted and hungry so decided to order in instead of going down but we absolutely regret it! 1 hour for the food to come! By then we were almost asleep!

7. Restaurants: Both living room and manzanita Restaurant service and variety of food horrible, not to mention the prices. A donut costs you almost 8$ at Blue Cafe so with tip its like 10$. I ordered pancake for my kids at the manzanita restaurant and BOY it tasted like it was made only from sugar and you would deffinately not need any syrup. One must question if people coming for the ski season they would need healthier type of food not the diner style food! It does not make sense there are 2 restaurants and in room service menus can be so similar!! you done want to eat the same food style for 3_4 days!

8. Cleanness: We sat at the fire place for dinner and the table was all dirty that when they brought our drinks and put the napkin it stick to the table Yuk!!! You could clearly see the glass rings on the table and spilled drinks.

9. No Refrigerator: if you have home made baby food or breast milk or anything else needs to be refrigerated, you need to ask for it and then a guy brings the fridge and instal it but that's not all! The way the staff dressed are horrible you can't say if the person is staff or just random guy doing stuff. For this gentleman case, while he was installing the fridge I could see his but crack the entire time! Something I wasn't expecting at a 5start hotel!!!!!!

10. House keeping and room service: Just look at how the bed is made and the towels folded you will get the idea! Motel style!

11. Staff: well this is most the disappointing part as you expect much more from the staff of a five star hotel! I could say with confidence that almost 80% of the staff were not professionally dressed. Two of the staff at Manzanita restaurant serving with their shirts buttons open, of course they had undershirt but imagine you only close the highest and the lowest button of your shirt. And the other one closed them wrong!

Unfortunately this list can go on.....

This one star review is not about the quality of the hotel, but my experience dealing with their finance team. I canceled my reservation within the no charge cancellation time window, however, their finance team went ahead and charged my card with the full amount 2 days after my cancellation. I emailed them to request a refund and got a reply saying I canceled my reservation within their penalty window and they can't refund me.

I emailed them my reservation + cancellation confirmation which clearly stated I canceled my reservation within the no charge window.
The finance team then get back to me today saying it seems to be their system issue and promised that I will receive a full refund. I just check my account and guess what! Instead of refunding me, they CHARGE me Again!!! I'm speechless at this point.

When I think of Ritz, this is definitely NOT the standard I would be expecting.

Now back to writing seems never ending emails trying to get back my refunds.
