Continuing to be one of the most active and well-respected private companies in the storage industry. Currently, The Lock Up operates storage centers in eight states. We own and manage over 1.6 million square feet of self storage. Additionally, we have recently partnered with a large pension fund that controls tens of billions of dollars.

Staff were very apologetic, and he's the only reason I would not give a one star review. Wasted an hour getting there and back just to see the '5x5' spot I reserved online had a load bearing pole through it, making it useless. The only other '5x5' had similar issue. Now looking elsewhere in River North. I wouldn't book online.Report

I had my first experience with The Lock Up Self Storage when I lived in Rogers Park. So when my sister said that she needed storage for her business I knew exactly where to go. Once I arrived to the downtown location I was greeted immediately by the manager. He quickly called Joe to come help and he came right away. Being familiar with the company I told him Exactly what I wanted and he delivered. The first three I did not like and he was so patient and understanding. I apologized for being picky but I know exactly what I wanted and he was okay with making sure I had it. There were some technical difficulties and he was very apologetic and figured Everything out. I had a Great experience! I guess that means a lot saying as though I'll be in and out of there more often now!Report

Had a generally good experience. Halls and storage units look clean. Seamless time moving in. Elevator was big and spacious. The Lockup is wonderful! A clean, well run storage facility with terrific management. The property manager, Edward is efficient professional and thoughtful. He knows how to handle any questions or adjustments that may need to be made and responds immediately. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Horrible experience! The guy ripped me off for boxes. They attempted to double charge me, their prices are higher than others, once I purchased and said I wanted a refund they pointed to the tiny sign (which you can barely see) which said no refunds. Please don't do business here. I'm a pretty easy going guy and it takes a lot to aggrevate me. I simply cannot stand for thisReport
