One of our top 5 restaurants ever! What a great place for a Romantic dinner out.Report
My wife and I were in L.A. for the weekend. We wanted a nice place for an oceanfront dinner. Terrazza restaurant in Santa Monica will not disappoint.
We made an online reservation for 7 pm. Our goal was to catch the sunset over the Pacific.
We ordered a nice bottle of California Cabernet.
We started with Crafted bread that brought an organic black garlic butter.(fabulous, my wife said it’s the best bread she has ever had)
For our entrees we had two pasta dishes. A delicious short rib pasta called-Busiate, outstanding! Also, we ordered the Spaghetti with shrimp it was cooked to perfection.
The mood was further complimented by a live piano player and a woman singing.
After dinner we strolled up to the Santa Monica pier.
Overall we give Terrazza a 10.
We had breakfast the morning we arrived to the hotel while they finished up our room. Great menu, service, and our table was right at the window. Great people watching and perfect views of the beach and ocean. The entire wait staff was wonderful. Super attentive and friendly. Our food was delicious so were our morning cocktails.Report

Not cheap but if you want something delicious in a great place with the view it's the place.Report
The minute you park your car at the front of the Hotel the 5 star Hospitality begins. The Bar ???? makes you feel welcome. The glass of Chablis wonderful with oysters. The Restaurant no reservation at 5pm sits me window side. The Host Lendy a true professional and kind. My waiter knowledgeable on wine and the menu. I can recommend the Nebbiolo and the Pastas. You are in a garden and it is the perfect first date type of place. You can see that someone cares about the details here. That makes all the difference.Report
Stopped there for lunch with my friend. The location is beautiful. The views from this place are gorgeous but they put the blinds down so only the person next to the window will see all the beach and the water — at least that’s how it was in the afternoon. We sit inside and I don’t know if they have an outside area. The food was tasty but we waited a long time and overall didn’t like the service there.Report
We adored our evening on Wednesday night celebrating a belated Fathers Day. We made reservations for a seaside view. We only waited 5 minutes before our table was prepared. The view is lovely and although the sunset at our Santa Monica Beach where the hotel is located occurs in spring and fall, the view of the boardwalk, sea and sand was still lovely during daylight and as the sky turned pink and peach. We were treated so well as the waiter, host and hostess all were exceptional. The menu shown for this review is different, but even better. We began with beverages and a very nice selection of bread, and large crisp crackers. Our meal started with the Wagyu Beef carpaccio with greens and a delightful sauce. There was an error in the menus as the grilled octopus, offered as an appetizer on the menu was actually a main entree and my husband’s appetizer was already served. It was not a problem as we just shared the Wagyu. For my entree, I had the Filet Mignon that had a fantastic bold sauce under the perfectly cooked oh so tender but lean 8 oz Filet, garnished with puree yam, thinly sliced roasted haricot vert and carrots. My husband chose the pink salmon that had a very unusual sauce that did not over power the seafood but was different than a usual ordinary butter sauce. The fish was also prepared perfectly. We chose the most unusual potatoes as a side dish fingerling potatoes lightly cooked, squashed and then fried light and crisp, yum. For dessert we chose their specialty a Basque cheesecake that was good but we may have chosen something more unusual if it hadn’t been suggested right away. The wine selection was also very nice since my husband only wanted one glass. I had my favorite Single Malt Scotch Lagavoulin as wine causes a headache for me. The food, service, exceptional architecture and view were all superb.Report
I found the fish, almost the same price as the Filet Mignon and the Wagyu Carpacio (a small dish) a bit more expensive than expected ( this is the reason I gave only 4 stars). My husband never questions the price if everything else is as good as it was and hotels are usually a bit more expensive.
We also had a surprise during the evening as we were drawn into a wonderful conversation with a young couple from Australia on the last day of their Western U S 2 week vacation. We had much in common and it added to a lovely evening only 6 miles from our home. We will return to this restaurant again.
I had brunch on a Friday morning. It was one of the most beautiful views I’ve had in a long time. I ordered a cappuccino, lemon frittata pancakes, scrambled eggs and a hibiscus cooler - mezcal, watermelon, Cointreau - to complete the morning. Service was attentive and impeccable. I hope to return for a sunset.Report
