Food and service was horrible during the recent visit to celebrate dinner with my family. Tables were not cleaned before handing over to the next guest in the grand hall. Food was served without any cutlery, napkins. Waited so long to bring them and by the time food was cold and not eatable. Ruined the whole holiday lights experience and had to pay for nothing. Definitely not recommend for dinner out.Report

We had a wonderful time at the st. Louis Union Station. Lots of things to see and do.Report
I dont like leaving bad reviews, I feel like people have bad days and I want to think the staff was just overwhelmed but I would have to say that the staff was not trained to do their job as well, Or they didn't pay attention during training. We traveled to St Louis for family events, we didnt have a lot of spare time but we definitely arrived early enough to take our time getting ready for dinner, when we checked in the woman at check in gave us our room number and room key and when we got to the room a child was walking out of the room we were supposed to be checking into right when we were about to open the door. That wasn't what bothered me as much as what happened next, we went back to get a different room and stood there for 40 minutes while the women charged our card for a family members room and their incidentals which was more than it was supposed to be and by the time we finally got to our room it was an hour. The gentleman who helped us with our bags was extremely helpful and friendly but he was the only helpful employee until Monday when a manager got there. We were late to our family dinner because of the mistakes made at front desk, we drove 7 hours to get to the hotel and we were having dinner with my Grandparents who are 82 ad 83 and other family members. It was important enough for me to see my Grandparents that I drove 14 hours round trip and spent the $700 in hotel fees but the hotel dropped the ball so bad that I was 45 minutes late to an hour and a half dinner. I dont have to tell anyone that when Grandparents are 82 and 83 years old you cherish every minute you get with them especially when you live 2 states away from them. The next night we had another family dinner with different family and the valet took 30 minutes to have the vehicle at the front door after I called ahead to tell them when I'd be there. So I had 2 dinner parties with family and was late to both dinners because the staff at the hotel couldn't seem to do simple tasks. They lost my vehicle, I didnt know that was even possible. I'm not angry about it, I was frustrated when it happened because I know what it took to get time off work, to get my wife and teenager packed and on the road and both events I drove down for and spent money to be at I was late for. Family is important, I understand we're all human. We make mistakes, but as a business owner I know the difference between Good professional service and service that isnt worth half what we paid for. I dont like writing anything negative in a review and I dont want my review to stop anyone from doing business with Union Station Hotel.. what I do want is for management to read this and understand that because people were not properly trained we missed spending priceless time with my family. I hope that my experience can prevent someone else having to go through the same thing. If I was asked why I thought the staff made repeated mistakes in would say in my opinion its training. It didnt feel like carelessness, it felt like improper or insufficient training. My stay was good other than those problems, room was clean and the aquarium and surrounding activities were a lot of fun. 3 out of 5 starsReport
