St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery

DO NOT GET IPL if your skin tans well. Even if your white and your skin gets very light in the winter months without sun exposure, it doesn't matter. I got hypo-pigmentation from only 2 short sessions of IPL (lightened my skin tone). Hopefully this goes away with time (its been close to a year) but no guarantees in the research I've done. I got two sessions of IPL for so called broken capillaries on the face (small visible veins). I should have never done it, I was out of my mind, it was hardly noticeable unless closely examined and was natural looking to my face (I realize this now of course).
But an aesthetician after a facial one day recommended it so I thought I would try it. Should have done more research on the potential side effects. They make it sound like it's a natural new hip no risk process but it's not.
Besides the typical thousand pages of paperwork they give you to read through, none of the workers or nurses warned me of this as a potential side effect before doing it.
I take responsibility for my decision but they should also be responsible for not verbally educating people that come in, and be honest in telling them whether or not they are a good candidate for a procedure, and be very clear about the risks and potential side effects.
I Believe IPL would only be potentially okay for very fair skinned pale complexion people who do not tan at all. If I was a nurse I would warn people of this before starting. But it's a billion dollar industry that profits off people's insecurities. That's why you have to educate yourself.
I was very tan when I first came in and the nurse only recommended that I wait until winter when my skin lightens up. Which I did follow all her instructions. She never informed me that hypo-pigmentation was a risk. I would have never done it had she educated me. Just writing this review, for anyone else trying to decide. Wish I would have seen this or did more research. I usually do but I took confidence in my aestheticians recommendation. I take responsibility for that . Accept yourself and potentially look into counseling or something else most likely you don't need these more extreme procedures. These places make money off peoples insecurities. Good luck.

I got Botox and fillers in my lower part of my face and lips and it looks great I love it the only thing I did not like was it's painful! I was shocked at how painful it was even with the numbing cream.It was suppose to last about 2 years and it only lasted about a month !!That was a huge let down.

I have been coming here for years!! Each member of the staff welcomes you, is professional by every means necessary, makes you feel comfortable and always answers any questions you have!! I will never go anywhere else! Highly satisfied!

I have been a very satisfied patient with St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa since December of 2008 and have recommended this practice and the medical spa to friends, acquaintances and strangers. It is, hands down, the best in St.Louis!

I made an appt and had to cancel. I rescheduled. Drove an hour to get there and then they tell me that they didn't rebook my procedure correctly. There was no effort to make it up to me. After all, I took off a day of work and drove two hours to be told, oops, sorry.... I will go elsewhere...
