Massage is a traditional hands-on healing method. There are various styles and techniques of massage. However, the foundation of many popular massage techniques is Swedish massage, which is a whole-body oil massage intended to relax the muscles and joints. Specific massage types using the Swedish massage technique include deep tissue massage, sports massage, and prenatal massage.


While there are many different massage techniques and styles, it can be generally divided into two types: “therapeutic massage”,which is more geared
towards addressing specific health conditions and“relaxation massage” which primarily aims to encourage deep relaxation. The sports massage and trigger point massage are examples of therapeutic massage while the aromatherapy massage and hot stone massage are examples of relaxation massage.
