Sober Surroundings, LLC

I was a client at Sober Surroundings in Lowell on Gorham Street. I went there to continue my recovery process. The place was disgusting. It was obvious the house hadn't been cleaned in some time. The house manager John is obnoxious and pushy. He has no patience whatsoever. The house manager there is anything but helpful. There is no structure there. Clients are allowed to stay out until 5 am. Why would a recovering addict and alcoholic want to stay out that late. The house is located in a drug haven. It's not well run at all. Although I never lived at the Rock Street Sober Surroundings I visited a friend there. That house is just as bad, if not worse than the Gorham Street house. Like the other Lowell house it's dirty and run down. I went to the Gorham Street house for structure and to continue moving forward in my life. Upon arriving at the house I went in with a positive attitude. In the end I couldn't get away from the place fast enough. The owners of the program are making money off of people who have no where else to go. Despite all of the advertisements about what a good place it is, that is not the case. Take it from someone who's been there.
