Shield Towing

I book tow trucks daily for my job and have never had an experience as bad at this. They broker our the tow jobs and are not doing them with their own trucks. I worked with them to book a tow assist with a set appt time and set trailer type. I pre-paid and submitted all the info.

They charged almost double what I usually pay but said they could be there at the set time with the right equipment. Unfortunately they were not being honest. A tow truck didn't show up until 2 hours after our set appt time and didn't bring the right trailer to do the job. I called the dispatcher to check on getting the right truck and they didn't even know what job I was talking about. I was on the phone over 10 minutes with them trying to help them find the job I had paid them for hours before.

Another tow truck driver showed up almost 3 hours late having no idea he was late or about the other truck. Beyond charging for a service they did not provide the fact they couldn't even find an active order was shocking. If you have any other tow options besides Shield Towing I would suggest you take it.

I'm incredibly pleased with Shield Towing's quick response and efficient assistance. They arrived at the scene with all the necessary tools and expertise to help me out. The truck driver was friendly and knowledgeable, making the entire experience stress-free. I highly recommend them.

I represent apartment owners in Concord and Walnut Creek. I called in to see if I could get assistance with towing a vehicle abandoned on a property. I was quickly interrupted before I could explain what I was looking for without even finishing my sentence. Not to worry though, I will be informing all real estate owners I work with that Shield Towing does not assist with private properties even though their website clearly states this. There could have been a much more polite and professional way to deal with this. I highly suggest looking elsewhere for you towing needs. I will certainly be remembering to mention to not use this company.

An emergency after-hours motivated the need for a tow to the nearest mechanic’s garage. I was required to give my credit card information to make the reservation and was told the driver would arrive in about an hour. I asked about pricing and they told me it would be $150 for up to 5 miles and $10 for every mile beyond that.
About 45 minutes after making the reservation, I received a call stating that it would be another hour. I called a few other tow companies, but didn’t find a better option. We waited about 1 hour 45 minutes total. The tow went just fine and I paid by credit card upon delivery.

I am reaching out to fellow customers who have been defrauded by this company. My experience involves being charged a cancellation fee. I was charged for canceling the service after I had been waiting more than an hour past the time of arrival I was quoted. When I spoke with the driver of the tow truck he told me it would be an additional hour before he would be arriving. I told him this was unacceptable, considering I had already waited an hour past the time I was quoted. The driver then suggested I cancel the service and informed me I would be charged a cancellation fee. I believe this company is operating fraudulently by booking multiple services that they are unable to fulfill and then collecting the fee for cancellation when the service is ultimately cancelled due to their inability to follow through. It seems like a great way to make money from cancellation fees accumulated due to their own inept ability to manage their schedule. If anyone else has had this experience please contact me as I would like to take this matter to the district attorney.
