6 week update: Unfortunately, after living with my new patio for more than a month, I realize now that RCS is not just inexperienced; they are incompetent. I regret hiring Shawn Williams / Raleigh Concrete Solutions / Small Tyme Concrete (they are all the same), and strongly recommend you find a more professional, experienced, and reputable company for your patio project.
Issues with the work Shawn and team did:
- 10% grade (slope >1" drop per foot). He saw no issues with this... You are leaning while standing. And that is after I already complained during the project... He was going to make it even worse if I hadn't spoken up! Standard is a quarter of that, fyi.
- Charged over $6k for a project he quoted at $3.8k. No change in scope--only his poor planning, inexperience, mistakes, and lack of resources.
- Sloppy patchwork where the forms were. He made no effort to dye the patches at the same colorant:concrete ratio as the rest, so I've got unevenly colored places on every edge... Et
