About Powell Express Moving

Powell Express Moving started in 2002 by Roger Powell, a Sunnyvale (CA) native. Roger began driving commercial trucks in 1989 for local trucking/delivery companies. Roger also began skating the streets of Sunnyvale on quads, logging 20 miles per day every other day and continued this unique exercise for the next two decades earning him the nickname The Sunnyvale Skater for his proficiency on skates. (Look up The Sunnyvale Skater is my Hero on Facebook!)

After being laid off from JIT Trucking, with just a dream, a cargo van and a few dollies (the kind with wheels) Powell Express Moving was started. Despite a downturned economy, Powell Express flourished and began to earn the reputation it has today as a dedicated, honest and highly competent moving company.

In 2004 Roger added a 16 commercial truck to his fleet. The year 2012 welcomed the tenth year of business for Powell Express and we celebrated by upgrading our fleet with a new 20 commercial truck.

In 2016 Roger moved to Dubuque Iowa to serve small businesses, realtors, homeowners, renters, small business owners, and contractors in Dubuque and neighboring communities.

Powell Express was fully licensed with the State of California Public Utilities Commission and is now fully licensed and insured in Iowa to perform work as a professional moving company. You will find that Roger is present on most jobs and he ensures that your move or delivery will be handled with the utmost care and concern.
