Phil Hughes Honda

It is illegal to post and advertised price and then add forced costs and dealer "doc fees". The "doc fee" is the biggest scam in the car world. It literally is extra profit that the dealer does not split with the sales team. Good thing Amazon did not practice this. Advirtised lease price on an EV vehicle was $229 with with $3299 due at signing. Great I will take one. I was basically forced to test drive the vehicle before I could get the deal in writing. I told the sales guy I could do a one payment lease. The salesman, went to the "manager's desk" and came back with a total one pay of $19,300!
Shocked I did some quick math, $229, plus 7% tax on payment x 36. Tax on rebates $700, their stupid doc fee and some of this and some of that. I come up with about $13,700. Why so much more I ask? Looking at the sheet there is $795 stain protection, $2295 in appearance package, $899 dealer fee for the lease, $799 doc fee.........
They will not remove these and they get away with it because there is another sucker that will be here after you leave. This is against the law, added fees and forced products must be disclosed on the advirtised prices. Just stating "see dealer for details" does not cover this under GA law.
Do what you will, but this will happen to you!! Remember when buying a new car use to be fun. Now you have to go in and watch your back! In fairness, it is not just this place, but I was hoping for more from my home town dealer!
