I went to Petrelli law firm for my 18 year’s old daughter (adult) adoption. I was told that the process it will be easy and then they request a $3000 retainer, when I ask how much would be they said that the retainer would cover and they will return to me the money that we don’t use. Guess what? After 3 month they used all my retainer money and not case or documents submitted to court and then request for more money (I didn’t put more money) and they kept sending me bills. After 7 months we finished the process and cost me almost 3 times that amount. The attorney April Towsend went to court and sit there for 3 billed hours while they keep skipping my turn (I saw the list, my case was #3 and was called #8) I talked to the person in charge and they call my case. At the end they handled me the court resolution document (I paid for it, not included in my bill) so I can finish all the process with the state birth certificate department to change the name and obtain a new certificate (they don’t even did that for me) They charge me for every email, phone call. Do not go there.

I went to Petrelli for my adoption process and it was a nightmare and a really expensive process. I wish I could say that the money we payed was worth it but it wasn’t. We were always given unclear instructions to the point where they required me to pay for the wrong background check. Then when we finally made it to court, my lawyer, April Townsend, sat around for three billed hours doing nothing while they skipped my case at the courthouse. The final bill exceeded the amount of the retainer and they charged me for every phone call and email that THEY sent us, all of them spam. I am highly upset at the poor service I received at such an expensive rate. It wasn’t worth it at all.

My first time hiring a lawyer and it was dreadful. Sarah Cohen is a thief… who couldn’t even file a motion for me to get child support… the ONE THING I asked of her. Unethical law firm is still sending me bills for thousand without one court appearance or service done. Stay FARRRR AWAY!

You’re better off donating your $100 to a panhandler on the Blvd. This was the worst consultation I’ve ever had. 1 hour ended being 25 mins of Thomas speaking AT me condescendingly. I’ve represented myself for my custody case for over two years without assistance from an attorney. When he heard this he condescending crossed his arms and asked why was I here for a consultation. I appear to be doing just fine on my own. He didn’t ask me any further clarifying questions about my case. I started asking questions about what I could expect after filing a confirmation to relocate and he was clueless. I asked how many relocation cases they represent. I was laughed at me and said do you know who we are and what we do? how did you find us? Did you do any research? He deflected another question. I than asked what are some of the reasons a judge would deny relocation. He bought up a topic I was familiar with, I politely made a comment saying I am familiar with them and he became very animated and gaslight me. Blurting out comments asking if I am a lawyer, do I know the laws, and so fourth. I felt attacked and belittled by a stranger the second I told him I’ve been representing myself and have full custody. I don’t think he appreciated the fact that I am a female, educated and able to ask relevant questions. Thomas was too insecure and incapable of answering. I asked what they could do for me and my relocation case and all I got was, well if you want a real professional, they don’t take people serious without an attorney. Questions that were too complicated were followed up with, I can’t say that and give you free advice. LOL free I paid a $100 to be scrutinized by a man whose not even a lawyer. I asked to have a consultation with a lawyer. Not the director of client relations Thomas Genzale!!! Is he supposed to be HR or something?! Complete scam. I feel robbed and discriminated against. I feel I should receive a full refund for the time I was cheated and the fact that it was not the lawyer Thomas who I was supposed to speak with. In fact wasn’t a lawyer at all.
