PCI Health Training Center ReviewsLEAVE REVIEW FOR BUSINESS
I went to PCI a while back, graduated, and the career advisor (Carnes) stuck me in a plasma clinic.. A place that required NO certifications and hired walk-ins with no experience. After a few years I was applying to clinics and hospitals, got several interviews and was turned away for lack of experience. If you're looking for a career in the medical field, go to a state university or community college. Get state credits. This place, like many others (Concorde) will just put you in a debt you can't pay off. I ended up leaving the field and got into personal protection. Much higher starting pay and you just put people in the hospital to keep the nurses busy.
if i could give less than a star i would , not towards the teachers but more like for management one person specifically . the teachers and classes overall are very cool , the teachers are very helpful and actually take their time to show people how to understand and learn the stuff needed. they welcome you with open arms and even show you multiple techniques in labs, however when it comes to a lady named mrs.taylor , she makes it very hard to even want to go to the school itself , she loses all of the work handed to her , she also belittles the hispanics by not allowing them to speak they're first language around. she's also racist and attitude and mood is very disgusting , but it is only with certain people , she picks and chooses who she wants . so in hopes of pci getting better i hope mr. white can help everyone on that . allowing everyone to have a good and comfortable enviornment full of growth and success without having things taken and shut out from everyone in order to get there.
PCI Richardson campus is an amazing school to attend! I’ve had a great experience. I loved all the instructors, our classes, even my externship site. From the financial aid process to now receiving my diploma has been a smooth experience! They will make sure you succeed, and help you in any way. Thanks to PCI I have a job I love to do. if you are considering to apply DO IT!!!!!!!
The review statement is to share my experience at this organization and that is what I will try my best to do starting with the instructors. I completed my medical assisting program in March of 2021. When I started I had been working at a hospital for about four years so I knew a few things medical jargon and such. However some of my classmates knew next to nothing and most had just finished high school. The instructors took time to meet us at our current level and help us excel. They laid a foundation for us to learn in multiple ways and was very hands on through out the complete process. They really helped in any way they could and prepared us for our future positions. Now the business office well I am not sure. If you actual want to work in the medical field take the initial job they give you and get experience if you do not have any. Then while working find a better job for your future. if you have experience while in your externship hit the ground running looking for you a good job that will better suit your needs. This school gets a bad rep because of the after school work balance. IF YOU WANT TO SUCCEED YOU WILL! DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING AND ADVOCATE FOR THE PLACEMENT YOU WANT! and Ms. Carnes is not going to change so take her with a grain of salt finish school and live your best life.
I was so happy to attend the school, we filled out everything for student loans and grants; even bought some scrubs and a laptop as they suggested just to get my deploma denyed a week before school started. Im so upset and heard broken. Was looking foward to this school but oh well i guess its life.
My experience at PCI was a little different due to being virtual learning, and once a week on campus for hands on training. It’s advanced learned so everything feels like it’s being thrown at you and then bam! Tests on Fridays. Nonetheless Ms. Hernandez was a wonderful teacher, very helpful & had a big heart to teach you no matter how many times you asked for help. I graduated March 2021 and got hired at my extern site in a pediatric clinic. Starting pay was $13 and that was me negotiating a pay with them. Most clinics starts at $10-$11. Entire school tuition was $15,000 for Medical Assistant. Over all PCI was okay. At the end of the day it got me a job.
