Mike Shaw Subaru

I just joined the Subaru owners club, and I could not be happier! I had been looking at Subarus for awhile; I really wanted a car that was good in snow, and everyone recommended Subarus for this, due to the AWD. I had done a bit of research, and noticed that a dealership was on the way one day when I was driving home, so I popped in hoping to ask some questions - that's it! I'm not someone that does well with high pressure sales, so I was nervous about how I would be received and how hard it would be to get past a sales pitch to be able to get information. I feel incredibly lucky to have walked in when I did, because David Newman was the salesman available at the time who was able to help me. I can't say enough about how great David was! There was NO pressure at all. He answered my questions first, and then as we waited for my trade-in to be valued, we did a quick test drive. This wasn't my first time shopping for a new car, but it *was* the first time the salesman genuinely let me take the lead and was just there for support and information. I absolutely loved the car we test drove (and it was one I had seen online, and David had made sure to find that exact car for me, even though he had to scroll through practically every car on the lot to find it!). It had the options I wanted and as a bonus, the interior was even better than I expected. I had planned to just get information, but after meeting David and test driving the car, I was sold - there was no reason to go anywhere else, and I absolutely didn't want to work with any other salesperson. The decision to actually move forward with buying a car was 100% me, and as we went through the financing process, there was still NO pressure at all. It was so refreshing to be making a big purchase like this and feel like it was my decision, and my terms, the whole way through. I also appreciated the effort made to make the process as quick as possible - if you've been to other dealers, you've probably experienced how buying a car can be a full day ordeal. That was not the case at all at Mike Shaw Subaru, and David was so engaging and easy to talk to that the time really flew by. I am thrilled with my new car and my buying experience! No one at the dealership said anything to me about reviews - I'm leaving this completely of my own volition because my experience was so great. If you're someone who avoids dealers because of the high pressure sales, this is where you want to go! Make sure to ask for David Newman!

Our salesperson Erik Castaneda at Mike Shaw Subaru was really good. My wife came in on her own, he never pushed her but instead listened to what she wanted. Even though she made it clear she would be back a week or two later he still treated her professionally.

The customer service is thoughtful and authentic. And although the pricing is always a sticker shock when there’s an unexpected repair or service needed, after researching other places, I found that their pricing is competitive or less than other car shops.

I looked at neighborhood shops, and there were two cheaper places, but they didn’t offer a warranty on their work.

Mike Shaw Subaru also used every coupon and discount they can find, to make it easier. And their work was top notch. They showed every step of what was needed, with a video and pictures, and I could pick and choose what I wanted to have done, no questions asked.

What I’m paying for here is the least amount of hassle and the most amount of experience, best practices, and ease to get through a tough day. And at the end of that tough day, I leave knowing there’s a warranty on all their work and parts. Thanks, Joshua, for the help and the evidence that this is a good place to come back to.
