About Metro Stars Gymnastics

In order to develop healthy minds and bodies, children need opportunities to explore the environment around them. Metro Stars Gymnastics provides a safe, healthy, and vibrant setting in which to foster the growth of your child through the sport of gymnastics. We believe that gymnastics is beneficial for everyone and seek to foster participation for children of all ages.

Our instructors have extensive knowledge in the growth and development of young children, which is in addition to their vast gymnastics experience. Many of our instructors have degrees in child-related fields including education, occupational therapy, and early childhood development. Our program director, Elizabeth Lilla, a Doctor of Occupational Therapy, personally developed the gymnastics curriculum. Together, Elizabeth and Erik Lilla, C.S.C.S, bring over 20 years of gymnastics coaching experience.

Metro Stars Gymnastics is proud to offer classes in our new state-of-the-art facility. The clean professional environment encourages young gymnasts to excel in the sport. There are two distinct areas in the facility to meet the needs of all children. We have a larger gymnastics area for children ages 6 and up, while our smaller gym meets the needs of children walking to 5 years of age. The heated and air conditioned space allows children from the Omaha Metro Area to participate in gymnastics all year round.

Our innovative classes focus on basic motor skills, balance, coordination, confidence, and social interaction. Classes are available for children walking and up. Each class centers on developmentally appropriate activities designed to address each age group's abilities and needs. Movement, music and games are incorporated into our preschool program to allow children to explore the environment in many different ways. Our recreational program for boys and girls teaches basic gymnastics skills utilizing progressions to ensure each child is challenged appropriately. Correct technique is emphasized to ensure safety and progress in every class. Classes are conveniently available mornings, afternoons, and weekends. In addition to our outstanding classes Metro Stars is excited to offer birthday parties. A Metro Stars birthday party offers children a structured time in which to explore the gymnastics environment. During the 60 minutes in the gym, participants have time on each of the events as well as the trampoline. Following our time in the gym, families have 30 minutes in our party room to enjoy refreshments and open gifts. Open Gym is offered to allow children additional time working on the apparatus. This is a fabulous time to work on specific skills, jump on the trampolines, or simply burn off extra energy. Open gym is available to the public.
