Our accommodations were awesome and will try to book it again in the future. Mr. Patel from Maui Resorts was very helpful as well.

We stayed at this property, not this unit, previously. Property overall seems to have declined, not been maintained.

•Cleaning: Kitchen refrigerator and countertops did not seem thoroughly wiped down as there were purple drips of purple liquid on the freezer door and debris on the countertops. I sanitized all surfaces in kitchen, bathroom, unit myself. Not the way I wanted to start a vacation.

•Called and requested second bar of blue soap and a soap dish for bathroom sink. Received 2 bars of blue soap and a second bottle of Dawn. No soap dish. Why an I requested second bottle of Dawn?

Thermostat: thermostat was turned off. Had to call building maintenance to come and turn it back on. The instructions didn't match the reality of the actual thermostat. Please add thermostat to the checklist to confirm it's working, on between tenants arrival and that instructions are accurate. Called Maui Resort Rental office I was told building maintenance would be there in an hour. Five hours later after we had returned from dinner and questioning why we were staying at this rundown Place, building maintenance showed up.

* Refrigerator unit: seems like it needs to be replaced. Talking with other people in other units and they were experiencing the same problem: their freezers did not work: either it dropped ice all night and that ice could not leave through the door access, or ice would fall out randomly on the kitchen floor, or water would spew out randomly on the kitchen floor. Time to replace the unit or get a better quality unit if it's not lasting due to the wear and tear of rental users. • also there was purple liquid dripped and dried down the front of the freezer as though staff had not cleaned it in between tenants. Gross. What else wasn't cleaned or sanitized?
* Shower trim: shower trim needs to be replaced.
* Lighting in the bathroom & kitchen: too dark! And in kitchen, please install under counter lighting because it is too dark to safely chop and prep food Even with the overhead lighting on in the kitchen. I prep raw vegetables in smoothies every day all year long. I get this unit and it's too dark to safely work in. Sad and expensive.
* Bathroom lighting: it's too dark. Consider adding a plug-in magnifying mirror the lights up when plugged in and install brighter LED bulbs or add additional reset lights.

* Vase and plastic flowers: poor choice of decor to have such a wide bouquet of plastic flowers in a studio where space is already limited. Although we moved the vase and flowers onto the table in front of the pull out couch, it still got knocked over and shattered. We swept it up, threw it out, and kept the plastic flowers for you.
* Vacuum: Please provide a lightweight and powerful tile floor vacuum for use when staying in the unit.
* Dates of our vacation: December 4-12, 2021. Wow. Not a good time to visit. Property was inundated with kids. We never got to enjoy the pools or hot tubs Due to either being filled with kids or after the kids had left the water was so murky and cloudy its cleanliness was questionable.
* Noisy kids in the hallways: before 8 AM we would hear kids crying, screaming, yelling, some happy noises, and continual running up and down of the hallways. We've been traveling for over 30 years and never have experienced this and we travel extensively and in all seasons. We paid this much and the place was noisy and kids were uncontrolled?
* Overall property maintenance: the property looks neglected. And this had nothing to do with the storm that happened during our stay. I guess the HOA dues are not being paid and not being used to maintain the property. Multiple signs of neglect.
* Over priced for what you get. Had a better stay experience at a lower priced property the week prior to our stay here.

Excellent location, great space for family of 6. Easy walk to pool and beach. Check in was quick and easy, but no luggage carts available. Gentleman at bell desk was very friendly and helpful.
Unit 101 is poorly maintained. Patio furniture is falling apart and cushions are thread bare, as was the case when we stayed in 2018.
Kitchen utensils need upgrading- not even a spatula for the frying pans. Knives all need sharpening.
BBQ on its last legs, fridge beside the barbecue does not work.

Previous occupant's remains found under living room couch.
Patio is extremely slippery when wet, which is quite frequent - children had some nasty falls.
An email was sent to the management company during our stay and although they indicated they would investigate at least one of these issues, no further follow up was done.

This is our second visit to the Honua Kai Resort, Konea Tower, on Maui. It is also our second time using Maui Resort Rentals. We've stayed in a two bedroom condo previously and this time we were in a three bedroom condo.
Honua Kai checks almost all of our boxes. It has spacious bedrooms and showers. It provides easy handicap/wheelchair access in the parking lot, elevators, entry into and throughout the condos, and shower chair access for our honored senior family member. Multiple large (queen) sized beds in a single bedroom, large dining room table, and comfortable lounging furniture was very beneficial for our medium sized Ohana!
There were a couple of items that needed to be replaced and fixed in the kitchen, but a short call to Maui Resort Rental and the problems were swiftly fixed!!
Since our first visit, the resort seems to have added more flowers and greenery or something to give it more of a classic, warm resort feel and those details are appreciated. We also appreciated the towel service provided for the pool area. It is very convenient and easy to access.
Duke's pool service was a little slow but the food (burgers, fish tacos minus the hot spice, chicken salad and drinks) was tasty. Even though we prefer to cook most of our meals in the beautiful condo kitchen, breakfast (omelettes, banana pancakes, and Papaya - we miss the oatmeal) at Duke's is a must at least twice while visiting. There are multiple restaurants like, L&L Hawaiian (barbecue chicken or grilled Mahi Mahi) and The Lahaina Fish Company (pork ribs and chowder), that are close by when you want to go off the property for good food.
The beach is small but the views are wonderful. The pool was enjoyable and heated comfortably this year.
The sunsets from our 6th floor condo (625) were outstanding! Watching the ocean and listening to the waves from our lanai was a daily treat. Our peaceful family time in the evenings was priceless. We would recommend the Honua Kai Resort for a family (all age ranges) friendly vacation. I'm sure we will rent from them again.

Rug in living area filthy. Washer and dryer were not working. Light bulbs out. Could really use updating. One of large pools very cloudy.

Really enjoyed our recent stay at Honua Kai. The property is great and our unit was spacious, clean and well equipped. Lots of info was given on what to expect and how to enjoy our unit. Appreciated the great communication.
