I am usually skeptical of many dealers. The sales team wants your business and does all the song and dance to get it. Then after they get your business, the Service and Parts departments are usually subpar in their customer service. And why not? They typically have you trapped for a few years.

So, I bought a brand new 2022 Highlander. After receiving my permanent tags, I noticed I couldn't remove the temp tags (never have i ever purchased a vehicle, and this happened). Other Toyota dealers close to me would not help as they feared the wrong screw was used or a tech would need to drill through the screw, and if there was damage, they wanted to make sure the place where I here purchase covered the expense.

No worries, I made my appointment and went out to Koons, which is almost an hour from my house. It's a huge inconvenience, but I remember the excellent customer service I received when purchasing, so I thought, no worries, this will be a quick and emphatic process. It was clearly their fault, and I was sure they wanted to do everything to correct it. I got to Service and found out I will have to wait 3 hours minimum for an appointment because they are super busy (why make an appointment, though). Again, I said no worries; I have to work, so what are your solutions, I asked? I have been to other Toyota, and they offer loaner cars or Uber/Lyft. I was told "we offer nothing" and that I could rent a car if I wanted or chill in the waiting room for at best 3 hours to remove a license plate bolt with a service appointment. The service guy told me that all Toyota's are different, and this one is like that. I thought about what happened to the customer service and working with the customer to make sure they were happy and taken care of? And I remember they sold me the car, so the jokes on me. Regardless, after this issue def going to another Toyota for Service and do not think I will be back for business or recommend anyone here. Thankfully there are other Toyota where the Service and Sales seem more aligned; for example, already been to the Passport Toyota in Suitland to install an accessory and was taken care of and picked up some parts and was treated well there too.

I went in to get my car serviced. I made an appointment I hopes that it would be honored. I have been to other places where If you have an appointment, they take you before others who just walk in. This is not one of those places. I ended up being there 3 1/2 hours. I wasn't informed that it would take that long. If I had known, I would have taken the shuttle to the mall or have done their concierge service. They need to do better about communicating about the length of time it will take. They have enough employees sitting around where one could be the one to call about the status. Also, when communicating, be clear and concise about where one should go to check out. I will seriously reconsider making an appointment and instead just show up since it doesn't make any difference.
