Koons Silver Spring Ford Lincoln

I was desperate to get a new work van after mine was stolen and totaled. After an exhaustive search I was able to locate one at Koons of Silver Spring. I worked with a salesman named Steve who could not have been more helpful. Had a great experience would highly recommend this dealership

Shady like the rest.

By now, you should know better than to take your car to any dealer for service. If you had any questions about Koons Ford of Silver Spring, allow me to illuminate why you should go elsewhere.

A $2 part. The size of a thimble. This part was all I needed. With the help of YouTube, I could have repaired it myself. However, it's a part with a recall, so it made sense to have the dealer do it for free.

Dealer money grab mode activate!
I arrived at the dealer, and what do you guess happened?
1. No, your car is not under warranty.
2. You will have to pay a $150 diagnostic fee.

Gee, go figure.

Grand total to replace the part? $261 for a $2 part and likely no more than 1 hour of service for even the most incompetent mechanic.

And it gets better.
I had a light that was out of its socket. Charge for that? $186. Nearly $200 to remove the over-engineered bumper to get at the bulb, only to plug it back in.

So to recap, I paid $447 (this included tax) to have a $2 part installed and a light bulb plugged in.

Let that sink in.

Please don't use this dealer for service. Until car dealers are held accountable, they will continue to fleece customers unscrupulously. I reported them to Ford, but they also don't care.

I wanted to take a moment to rate my experience at Koons Silver Spring, and let me tell you, and it was superior because of many reasons. As you can see, I gave a 5 start due to the dealership going an extra mile in the process from beginning to end. I met Jim Lee at the dealership, who is fair, honest, genuine, professional, and best exceptional in dealing as his own. My overall experience was excellent as Jim Lee is very knowledgeable and found ways to work with the customer. It would be best to give them time to get an excellent service. It is a must to check out. I will highly recommend this dealership. I also had a wonderful experience with John Speake. Thank you.

Went their shopping for a specific model. I was very precise about what I want and my price range, the sales man kept on showing me almost all other models but what I asked for, all were much more expensive that my budget. I kept on trying to redirect him to what I need and straight out said am not interested in any other ones, but fell in deaf ears. I had seen the car I need and it was good deal, but a friend refered me to this koon, so went to check it before final decesion. when he finally show me what I needed, the car had 20000 miles more than the other and was a $1000 more expensive than what I saw before, so definitely their prices are higher. Worst part is the phone calls. I got 4 calls in less than 3 days since I visited. If managers think their aggressive sales policies are working, they clearly mistaken, nothing irritates a buyer more than a pushy sales person, they need to get their act together and study the market and competition. Won't get from them no matter what.

Steve Hipps was tremendous. With inventory at an all time low he contacted me and stressed the F150 Lariat I had been looking for would be gone within 24 hours. He wasn't kidding… I beat 3 other people to the finish line. Great truck but it runs a distant second to the treatment Steve and Mike Mabry gave me. Do not ever make a move on a new car without calling Steve at Koons of Silver Spring.

I sold my car to Koons in Silver Spring on September 21, 2021. I originally spoke with Anthony who agreed to buy my car for a specific price. I had multiple dealerships interested in the vehicle but agreed to meet with Koons because they were going to beat the other offers. When I went to the dealership, the manager said they would not pay the agreed upon price and offered me $450 less. I was already pretty frustrated at this point but I agreed to the new price.

Koons agreed to pay off the remaining balance of my loan and write me check for the positive equity in the vehicle. I have followed up with Koons several times now and they still have not paid me, it's been over a month! I followed the vehicle on their website as it was listed for sale. It sold within a couple days. Be careful doing business with this dealership.

I left a $500 Deposit on a used Car on 10/21/2021 which I was picking up on 10/22/2021. While on my way to the Dealer, 3.5 hours from where I live, a so called Sales MGR calls me to inform me they sold the vehicle, someone I never spoke to before. I was dealing with another "Sales" MGR and "Victor", the General MGR. No one will answer or return my call. I had until end of business 10/22 to purchase this vehicle. Shady untrustworthy Dealership and Personnel. Stay FAR from doing business with them as they do not keep their word! The Transaction on my Amex card is still in a "Pending" state which shows how little time has passed since I left the deposit. And I took the afternoon off today to pick it up. ZERO stars in my opinion!

Jim, I am so sorry to hear this happened. We would never intentionally take a deposit knowing someone else is interested in purchasing the same vehicle. Our goal is to always be honest and transparent, not dishonest; and untrustworthy.
