The agency was founded by John Mallen in New York City in the fall of 1987 as an alternative to the traditional large, impersonal, politically-driven Madison Avenue agency. JMC moved its headquarters up the Hudson River to Kingston, New York, in 1995, drawn by the natural beauty of the Hudson Valley and its quality of life.
