    I bought a used car with low mileage from this dealership last year which was a terrible experience. 2 of the doors have begun rusting since I bought it, for a reason that had nothing to do with my doing. I've taken it to about 5 different bodyshops for assessments and all have are essentially unanimous in their assessment and opinions: the damages from a previous accident were horrifically and shoddily repaired by an amateur, and both doors required complete replacement in order to guarantee no further rust- at a cost of approximately $4,000. Every single body shop professional that looked at my car expressed disbelief that a Toyota dealership would place the car on the market in the condition it was in, and that it was obviously prone to rust as all the proper steps had not been taken. I think that speaks to the level of quality control at this dealership.

    Before I bought it I did take the car for an inspection, however due to my lack of experience and car knowledge I didn't ensure that the inspector had body work knowledge- it was a mechanical inspection only. I was told the car was fine and I felt OK buying it then.

    After the rust started and properly assessing its condition, I wrote a complaint to the MA attorney general's office that the dealership sold a car to me 25% lower in value that what I paid, to see if there were consumer protections in my favor akin to the lemon laws. Turns out, not enough. Although the attorney general's office was sympathetic, I was told that I could take the dealer to a small claims court, and that the dealership could simply refuse to pay even if the court ruled in my favor, and there weren't enough legal mechanisms to hold them accountable. What a nice loophole, hooray for used car salesmen. I was also told that 4 other complaints about this dealership were issued in recent years, which is above average, and near the threshold where they would have to take action.

    Of course, the dealership refused responsibility or to help in any way, other than a bad faith offer to sell me "lower cost" replacement parts which were actually the same value that I could find elsewhere.

    I'm not even going into dive into the other issues I had here- how my 10,000 downpayment mysteriously disappeared from their system for 2 weeks, or how they tried to sell the car to me at a much higher price than what was initially discussed after I went there in person.

    I realize that it's partially my fault for not inspecting the car body properly especially knowing it was in a prior accident. Due to my ignorance I didn't realize that I hadn't taken the proper steps to fully inspect the vehicle and I didn't realize the extent of how poor the repair was. But I also think that large corporations shouldn't be taking advantage of consumers' lapses in knowledge and big legal loopholes to sell used cars ~4k more than what they're worth. I think any business relationship should be of trust and good faith especially with what most people consider a large purchase essential to their livelihoods.

    I wrote this review to inform anyone who is looking for that trust and good faith. If you want your dealership to have top notch quality control, or one that strives to rise above the used car salesman stereotype, I hope my experience helps you determine whether you'll find it here.

    Hello David Williamson, as I've mentioned in my other responses I always appreciate good feedback so we can focus on improving. I just want to recap the events of when you drove up from Southborough MA to purchase the Camry and also point out that you mention them in your review. Yes, we did sell you the vehicle at a discounted value and it was due to the year, mileage, and condition of the Camry. We also disclosed to you, in writing, that the vehicle was in an accident with the previous owner and that they had it repaired. You understood, signed off on the Carfax disclosure, and had the vehicle inspected by your independent person. Yes, we did offer you discounted pricing on the repairs in good faith and even at the time offered to take the car back in trade for something else, without a previous accident, but you declined because you said could find another Camry for that low of a price. As I said last year, we will work with you on fixing the doors, trading you into another vehicle, or even purchasing the Camry from you. These options are available to you, but you need to bring the vehicle to us and not try to get payment via emails or through social media.
