India Palace Restaurant

Sad to write this after coming here for more than 25 years....but what has happened to India Palace? I ordered both a mild and medium dish tonight and the mild tasted like it had come out of a grocery store jar, no flavor, spices. The medium was slightly better. The nan bread was mushy and tasteless, not crisp and flaky. I have never, once thrown away unused part of a dish but did so tonight. Did ownership change again? May have to move on, I will probably give one more chance hoping tonight especially was a major off-night. Very disappointed.

Most places aren't even open after Covid, and bc it's still out there I ordered to go but it is a beautiful place I should have taken pictures, lord knows I had time. 25 minute wait unless you call ahead. I'm very pleased with my food even though they forgot my drink. Delicious and light on the tummy !
I starred what I ate! Not a busy place at all. It's definitely worth it! God bless those hands that prepared it!

I hate leaving bad reviews but, when it ruins your mood the day of your wedding you really have to. We rented the banquet hall for my wedding. We were told we could use the FULL banquet hall. The week before my wedding, and the week of I called to confirm and make sure we had the full hall and the lady behind the phone very rudely said I was only limited to half of the hall. The day of the event the other side of the hall wasn't even being used… Our guests were all cluttered into a tiny space.
Let me also mention the service for this place. No one cleaned up our tables after eating. We had stacks of used dishes on the tables that we ended up picking up and cleaning ourselves. The place was absolutely filthy and we were provided with DIRTY dishes to eat on. I heard several complaints from my guests about the unsanitary plates and bowls that were provided. We really thought their service would be top notch after all the meetings my family had with the owner.

Never again they are rude

Very pretty place, but that's where it ended. They didn't keep they're word on anything. Very unpleasant people. Day of event was told we could come in at 12:00pm to set up, The place was a mess from night before party. We were told no one wanted come in that early to clean. We offered to help , but was cut off very sharp (No we'll handle it. 2 young men mopping a huge floor, moving trash around with a mop. The Shaffers were all dirty, needed to be cleaned. Bathrooms were filthy and when told about it the response was(well someone must of put something in the toilets.)We we're told things could be moved to accommodate our backdrop etc. When came to the day of it was never discussed( says the bad attitude lady)We we're told we didn't even have to worrie about handling the food at all! ( We handle all the food , if it gets low we refill from back) One thing after another not keeping there're word on Nothing! I will never ever recommend this place to anyone! Especially for the amount of $ they asked for, Horrible service!!!!!Bad business!!

I usually enjoy coming here to get my food but one bad order ruined it completely for me ?

Very slow service. Low quality Indian food. Sticky chicken biryani and tomatoes full of goat curry. Burnt tandoori chicken and samosa chat was full of rubbish. It use to be such a good food place, no more now.

This is a Westside Indianapolis Landmark. Although it has changed ownership over the years, it has had the same name and location for atleast the past 22 years! This is one of your best west side of Indy Indian food options. Cool interior design with comfy chairs and an event hall that is rentable for big events. Abundant vegetarian options.
