Ideal Transmissions was established in 1959 by Barry Cole and has been a ‘family owned' business since that time. Barry, now aided by his son Rob, has been involved in the ‘transmission' business his entire life.  To say that ‘Transmissions' are their passion would be an understatement.  Just spend five minutes with them and you come away with the feeling that ‘this is the most important product' in the universe.  They put this focus into every one of their projects, be it a simple automotive transmission tune-up to a complex inboard marine repair.  Quality, fair pricing, and service with ‘state of the art' equipment are what's made this continuously growing enterprise the premier company of it's type North of Boston.  Their reputation is so positive that people send transmissions into them for repair from all over the country.

Having the knowledge, equipment, and an excellent staff is only part of the story.  The other half is ‘service'.  Meeting the timely client needs on a daily basis is a ‘given'... but  what happens if a customer needs ‘emergency service'?  They can be assured that their needs will be met promptly and efficiently by Ideal Transmissions.  And now, this expertise is being expanded to include general automotive repairs.
