For starters I've purchased multiple trucks over the years from Deland CDJR with good experiences. I would at least give our past sales experience 4 stars if not 5. Between our family and our company, we own 10+ Mopar products. In the past, we've had a favorable opinion of their service department. NOT ANYMORE. We took one of our company trucks (22' Ram Cummins) up for a would crank but not start issue. In the same service, I asked them NOT to perform the emissions update and they agreed. They did it anyway. Then when they repaired the truck, they charged MORE THAN MSRP (a lot more) for the part (that was not covered under the diesel warranty). Then we went to pick the truck up at the end of the day, the check engine light came on within 10 miles. We just naturally opened the hood, the air cleaner was loose and off to the side and one of the screws were missing. Additionally, one of the electrical box covers was laying there as well not installed. We took the truck back and they blamed us! They said someone else has been in here! I assure you the last person with the hood open was Deland CDJR. Assuming someone else did it (which isn't true), you mean to tell me your tech had the hood up long enough long enough to diagnose, repair, and check the repair and didn't notice the air cleaner lid and the fuse box cover was off? We say that in 15 seconds from opening the hood! Then to blame us! So we pick the truck back up (livid after being accused of messing up our own truck) and drive it our of the dealership and get a check engine light within 5 miles again. Obviously not going back there, we cotinued to drive the truck for a little bit and the check engine light would come on and off but we noticed the DPF was filling quick and it seemed it was almost constantly in Regen. We took it to Seminole CDJR and now it has a bad mass air sensor! Probably as a result of Deland CDJR leaving the lid off.Report

Back in September 2024, I brought my vehicle in for service after it repeatedly shut off. Following a diagnostic, I was informed that my vehicle had an oil leak, a head gasket leak, and a battery failure—all of which required immediate replacement. Given my spouse’s role as a first responder and the necessity of having a functioning vehicle, I had no choice but to proceed with the repairs, which totaled over $4,000. I was assured that the work was warrantied for 12 months.Report
After nearly two weeks without a vehicle and no offer of a loaner, I finally picked up my Jeep. However, just two days later, my car stalled on a dark two-lane road. Concerned for my safety, I had to arrange for a tow, which cost me $125 after multiple failed attempts to find a local service at that hour.
The following day, my vehicle was towed back to the Service Center, where the issue was identified as a loose connector preventing the car from starting. The technician kept my vehicle overnight to ensure the issue was fully resolved. I received multiple apologies from the Service Center, thanking me for the opportunity to allow them to rectify the situation. This entire ordeal spanned from August 21st to September 13th, again with no loaner vehicle provided.
Recently, after an oil change, I discovered an oil leak at the bottom of the oil pan around the gasket. Additionally, I found a ratchet extension left under my hood near the engine—a clear oversight from the previous service at CDJR. On 3/21, I brought my vehicle back under the assumption that this issue would be covered under the existing service warranty. However, I was required to sign an agreement to pay $222.53, regardless of the outcome. Since another mechanic, outside of CDJR, confirmed that the leak originated from the oil gasket, I was confident it would have been covered.
Within two hours, I was informed that the leak was actually coming from the oil cooler and was quoted $1,300 for repairs. I declined the service. Thirty minutes later, I was offered a Chrysler rebate, reducing the cost to $700. This sudden discount raised concerns about the integrity of the pricing structure. If customer relationships and brand loyalty truly mattered, the best price should have been offered upfront—not after a refusal. Unfortunately, many women experience this kind of treatment when seeking vehicle services, and I refuse to be taken advantage of.
Upon retrieving my vehicle, I was still charged the $222 diagnostic fee—despite the fact that I had brought my car in for a warranty-covered issue. With trust already being broken, I was not confident that the issue was new, rather a product of the previous service provided by DeLand CDJR. Frustrated, I requested to speak with the Service Manager.
I voiced my concerns to the Manager and commented that the situation felt reminiscent of a "dirty car salesman." Instead of addressing the larger issue, he fixated on this statement, asking me to repeat it, and then restating it throughout our entire conversation. I explained my dissatisfaction, including the previous negligence (such as the tool left in my engine and the unresolved tow reimbursement), but my concerns fell on deaf ears. His ego prevented him from seeing the bigger picture: a loyal Jeep customer feeling as though they were being unfairly charged for a diagnostic.
As a loyal Jeep owner, I am appalled by the lack of customer-first practices at DeLand CDJR. Their pricing tactics are questionable, and their leadership does not prioritize customer experience and first "call" resolution to their services. A quick glance at their Google Reviews and their 1.8 BBB rating should serve as a red flag. I encourage management to review security footage from 3/21 at around 4 PM EDT to assess the full interaction firsthand.
